Chapter 1377

Fiona and Wyatt exchanged a look, then quickly glanced away. "Honestly, I don't want Rose to do anything bad," Fiona said flatly.

The stuff that happened with the last generation was already tragic enough.

Fiona didn't like Rose, but she still hoped she could live a normal life.

Even if Odette's teachings had messed with Rose's head, it would be great if she could find her way back to the right path.

Wyatt glanced at the diary in his hand.

He tossed it aside and rubbed his hands like he was trying to get rid of something gross. "No way, I can't stay here. There are guest rooms on the second floor, right? I'll crash in one of those for now!"

"Wyatt," Fiona called out. "I'm telling you this because I might need your help later. Don't mess things up by showing everything on your face."

"Got it! Playing along is what I do best!" Wyatt said, but then his expression darkened as if he remembered something.

He quickly left the cabin.

Fiona, taking her time, put the diary back in its place.

Before closing the cabinet door, Fiona stared at the diary with a cold gaze and said, "If there really are ghosts in this world, I hope you're here right now. You'd better appear in your daughter's dreams and make her choose what I think is right. Otherwise, she'll live a life more painful than yours. I promise, if she makes the wrong choice, I'll repay the pain you inflicted on Aiden and Marisole a million times over on your daughter. And let her live a long life."

Maybe it was an unstable power supply.

Or maybe Odette was really there.

The cabin's lights flickered.

Fiona didn't even blink.

She closed the cabinet door, the combination lock clicked twice, and the cabin fell silent.

Fiona glanced at the cashmere shawl.

Without looking back, she left the cabin.

This cabin was a replica of an ideal cabin Fiona had drawn as a child, built by Darwin before his accident last year.

Inside, it looked just like a cabin from a fairy tale.

Fiona would occasionally come here to sit for a while and enjoy her alone time.

Back in the bedroom, Fiona sent Darwin a New Year's greeting message.

Darwin's phone, which he used before his amnesia, was still in the drawer; he didn't want to use it, and Fiona didn't force him to.

When Darwin came back, he would start using his old phone and all his accounts again.

Until then, Fiona would tidy up all the mess, waiting for him to come home.

The next morning, when Rose came out of the guest room, she saw a lively scene.

There were a few unfamiliar faces in the house.

They were all playing games with Burl.

"Did you sleep well?" Fiona's voice rang out.

Rose followed the voice and saw Fiona in plain loungewear, looking good even without makeup, very beautiful.

"Pretty well." Rose nodded. "Sorry, I overslept."

Rose had thought she would have trouble sleeping there.

Unexpectedly, after taking a bath, she was so tired that she fell asleep immediately.

When she woke up, she felt a bit panicked. After carefully checking herself and finding nothing unusual, she saw that the door was still locked from the inside. She let out a breath of relief. "It's a holiday; sleep as long as you want," Fiona said, gesturing towards the dining room. "There are plenty of people here, so we have all kinds of breakfast. Eat whatever you like."

"Have you all eaten?" Rose asked softly.

"I haven't yet," Fiona said as she walked towards the dining room. "I just finished a cross-country meeting."
