Chapter 790 Crisis of the Old Father
The headmaster was stunned.
It was not about discrimination against him.
This tall man is clearly a slacker who didn't study well!
Listened to that terrible slang!
If he were in his class, he would have him practice speaking at least eight hundred sentences a day!
"No, even if you're at the top of the grade, you still have to follow the school rules." The headmaster was somewhat polite but not too much.
"Headmaster," Darwin said, glanced around again. "Is there any place left in the school?"
The headmaster also looked around. "What do you need a place for?"
"It's too sunny." Darwin pointed to the sky, then looked towards the stage at the sun-exposed children. "I want to donate an indoor auditorium."
Headmaster felt surprised.
However, Stuart was puzzled.
He knew that Darwin's assets were now in Fiona's hands.
Then he quietly reminded Darwin, "Mr. Solomon, can you take five dollars from your pocket now?"
Darwin glanced at Stuart, proudly saying, "No, but I can ask from my wife."
Stuart was lost for words.
Asking his wife for money was embarrassing in their tribe.
How could Darwin be so proud?
It was all about amnesia.
He had more integrity than him!
"Please wait; I'll check with the board of directors about this place!" the headmaster answered quickly.
"Okay." Darwin nodded.
At that moment, Chicago had just finished a new round of rehearsals.
He watched Chicago run over, a fatherly smile on his face.
And then...
"Ethan!" Chicago exclaimed excitedly, using an unfamiliar name, and then ran to Ethan in front of him. "Ethan, did the headmaster catch you again?"
Ethan remained silent.
Being caught wasn't something to be happy about.
"Look, look at the image you've set for the junior grade!" The headmaster almost pounded his chest and stomped his feet. "Chicago, you're a good kid; you shouldn't learn from Ethan!"
"Headmaster, the image Ethan has set for us is one of good study, progress, and helpfulness!" Chicago defended Ethan fiercely to the headmaster.
The headmaster was surprised.
"All the progress I’ve made in my learning was thanks to Ethan's help!" Chicago recalled. "Oh, by the way, Ethan, I completed the test paper that you provided. I will bring it to you for grading tomorrow!"
Ethan nodded. "Okay."
Meanwhile, the headmaster was still holding the back of his collar.
Darwin looked at Chicago and then looked at Ethan.
Suddenly, a warning bell rang in Darwin's mind.
His mind was filled with the words that Fiona had said before she left, all about the little boyfriend, a few words like that.
"Alright, in front of the junior, I'll give you some face. Go back to the classroom immediately, but be careful of trying to skip class again!" The headmaster let go of Ethan.
Ethan straightened his clothes.
He nodded slightly at Darwin, then turned and walked away.
The headmaster said a few words to Darwin, noticing that Darwin was distracted.
Then he left tactfully.
The headmaster had been in education for many years, no longer a timid young teacher!
As long as it brought benefits to his students, he could handle anything, no matter how thick-skinned he had to be.
The school would have another auditorium.
After that, no matter what activities the school had, they wouldn't be afraid of rain or shine!
The headmaster's thoughts were getting more and more delightful.
What he didn't know was that the old father's alarm bells were ringing loudly now.
He was already considering whether to transfer his daughter to another school!
"Dad!"
Chicago grabbed the hand of the father, who was lost in thought.
"Yes?" Darwin looked at Chicago.
Darwin thought, 'My daughter was so cute!! Bad boys couldn't deceive her!!'
"Big brother Ethan is amazing!" Chicago was full of pride. "Although he doesn't have parents and is bullied by his bad uncle, he still studies well and is very kind to us. Mommy and Janna both like him and wanted to adopt him, but brother Ethan has his own principles; he wants to keep his parents' home."
When Chicago said these words, she was extremely gentle and serious.
Darwin furrowed his brows slightly.
He thought, 'No parents? Is Ethan an Orphan?'
"Does he live with his grandparents?" Darwin asked.
Stuart replied, "No grandparents, just him alone."
Darwin's brows furrowed even tighter.
"Dad, let me treat you to lunch?" Chicago held Darwin's index finger. "The chicken legs in our cafeteria are very delicious! Mommy tried them once, and she really liked them!"
Darwin snapped back to reality.
Then he held Chicago's hand. "Okay, let's buy a little more and save some for Mommy."
Chicago nodded, and then she led Darwin towards Janna.
As they approached, Darwin saw Ethan, who had just left, talking to Janna.
Janna seemed very fond of him.
She even used a baby wipe to wipe the sweat off his face.
Ethan looked cold, but he was very obedient in front of Janna.
He didn't move; he just stood there stiffly, letting Janna wipe his face.
When they were about to leave, Ethan said something and then left.
"Janna, I'm all done." Chicago let go of Darwin's hand and ran to Janna.
Janna smiled. "Does that mean you want to treat me and your Dad to something delicious?"
Chicago nodded vigorously.
Then, the group headed towards the cafeteria.
It wasn't yet time for school to end.
The cafeteria was quite empty.
Chicago held Stuart's hand, and they picked out a lot of dishes.
Then Chicago proudly swiped her meal card.
"Charles added the money on the card!" While swiping the card, Chicago explained to Stuart about the origin of the money on the card.
Charles had noticed that Chicago had lost some weight.
In fact, she had grown taller and slimmed down, so she looked thinner.
However, Charles was worried that his sister wasn't eating enough at school, so one lunchtime, he specially had a bodyguard bring him over.
Charles loaded some money onto Chicago's card.
Just to make sure she ate enough.
Of course, this was kept secret from Fiona.
Fiona never understood Charles's anxiety about Chicago not eating enough.
"Is it enough? Uncle Stuart also has money and can add to it." Stuart whispered; the spirit of comparison was strong. "Let's keep it quiet. Don't let Janna and your parents know!"
"It's enough!" Chicago quickly said, "The cafeteria lady said there's so much money on the card that I won't be able to finish it even after I graduate!"
"That's good." Stuart nodded. "Miss, you have to eat well."
Chicago was speechless.
She didn't understand why her brother and Uncle Stuart were so obsessed with whether she could eat enough.
It was as if she had a phase of not eating enough after she was born.
However, as far back as she could remember, she had always eaten well at every meal.
After getting their food, the two found Janna and Darwin.
They sat in a corner to avoid attracting attention as the place might get crowded later.
