Chapter 960
Milo's longing for Darwin lasted only a day and two nights.
When Fiona had breakfast, Stella arrived.
"Is Oliver sick?" Stella sat on the sofa, looking puzzled.
"What happened? Is Oliver bothering you?" Fiona thought that if Oliver dared to bother Stella, he really would have no fear of death.
"He sent me a thousand-word apology letter," Stella said with disgust. "He's apologizing."
Fiona was speechless for a moment.
"I've said it before, I don't need it at all. I just want these lunatics to stay away from me!" Stella frowned. "Oliver even said that when Alexander and I arrived in the Bay City, he would invite us to dinner and apologize to us in person; what did Alexander and I do wrong to deserve having dinner with him!"
"Was it very cold that winter night in London?" Fiona suddenly asked.
Stella was slightly startled. She lowered her head. "It was cold; I seriously think the chill I feel in my knees now started that night." Stella frowned in disgust. "Honestly, I really think that crazy Oliver wanted to drown me back then! What kind of psycho does that? Can't get the girl, so he tries to drown her? Idiot!"
Fiona felt somewhat helpless.
Stella always seemed to be able to turn a hurtful incident into a joke with just a few words, making it hard for others to pity her.
"I’ve looked into it; Oliver really took a hit this time." Fiona paused. "Wyatt even exposed him for using a stand-in."
Stella, the stand-in herself, widened her eyes in shock and gossip. "Who was this stand-in? Is Oliver that pathetic? I remember everyone saying his wife is super nice!"
Fiona looked at Stella helplessly.
Stella tilted her head in confusion, then seemed to realize. "Me?"
"Who else? What would Wyatt care otherwise?" Fiona replied with a smile.
Stella was shocked again. "No way, Oliver treated me so badly, and you're saying I was his first love? He even used me as a template for choosing a partner. Don't kid me!"
"Wyatt explains that all the women he's been with have had your shadow from when he first met you," Fiona explained.
Stella started biting her nails, her mind racing.
"No, I'm much prettier than them!" Stella said sincerely.
Fiona couldn't help but laugh.
"What are you laughing at? You'vemet both of them..." Stella muttered.
"You're definitely the prettiest," Fiona reassured her.
"Never mind. It's useless to dwell on these things. If he wants to find someone to stand in for me, let him be; it's just that he thinks they resemble me; I don't see any similarities!" Stella suddenly became cheerful. "The day after tomorrow, Alexander and I are going to volunteer at the church again! Which dessert did you like the most from last time? I'll buy it for you when I come back!"
Fiona looked at her.
"You came over so early. Don't you want to ask about Wyatt?" she asked, a bit exasperated.
Stella's expression froze for a moment. "Since you're back so soon, it means things are resolved, right? I have nothing to ask."
Upon seeing that Stella really didn't want to know, Fiona nodded understandingly.
"Check out that little cat outside," Fiona suggested, nodding her chin in that direction.
Stella's eyes lit up. She immediately got up and ran out, just as Milo was finishing its meal.
Milo turned its head to look back. It locked eyes with Stella as she came out.
Stella's eyes lit up. "Milo! You're so chubby!"
Milo looked speechless, then started chattering at Stella.
Fiona stood behind Stella. "Did Milo scold you for calling him fat?" she asked.
Stella smiled brightly, and she kept talking, "I feel like Milo scolded me quite harshly. Is it the gift you brought back for me?"
Fiona calmly watched Stella.
Stella slowly understood Fiona's silence, her excited smile gradually fading.
Stella's gaze returned to Milo. The cat, with an arrogant strut, walked towards her.
