Chapter 633 Excelled Her Master

Fiona, despite knowing Simon's uselessness, was astonished at how swiftly the task was completed. They soon received a video of Simon's severed head from the dark web, along with a request to speak with them.

"Why?" Fiona inquired.

"The friend who placed the order wants to have a word with you," they explained.

Taken aback, Fiona couldn't help but react reflexively. After a moment of contemplation, she agreed to the call.

A moment later, a video call came through. Fiona answered it.

The screen shook slightly, and a child wearing a yellow rain hat appeared in the frame. The child had a small face, a pointed chin, beautiful fox-like eyes with brown irises, a high nose, and a small mouth that was strangely red compared to a normal person's. Her skin was extremely pale, to the point of seeming abnormal. Perhaps because it was so pale, the bloodstain on their right cheek stood out even more.

"Did you dial the wrong number?" Fiona was puzzled. She didn't look older than ten.

"I can do without your money if you release my father," the child on the other end spoke, her tone carrying a threat. "And if my father has already died at your hands, then I'll make sure all of you die too."

"Your father?" Fiona frowned and then couldn't help but think of something. "The tall and thin one who always claimed to be the top assassin?"

"Yes." the girl nodded, then spoke with an undeniable tone. "Release him."

Fiona laughed speechlessly. "So, you're the one he mentioned, Charlotte, who was kidnapped by Simon and used to threaten him?"

"Yes, I'm Charlotte." the girl nodded.

"Understood. He's safe with me. Give me your address, and I'll have him come find you," Fiona responded.

However, the girl was still worried. She lowered her eyelids and thought for a moment. "You tell me the address, and I'll go pick him up."

"That works too. Do you want to speak with him? If you need to, I can arrange it."

"Is he really alive?" the girl asked skeptically.

"I'm not a serial killer," Fiona replied calmly. "But, did you kill Simon?"

"Yes!" The girl nodded, and for the first time, there was pride in her expression, aside from vigilance.

"I'm curious, how did you manage to do it?" Fiona had received reliable information that Simon had already been taken back to the queen's castle.

Charlotte blinked lightly.

Time rewinded.

After Charlotte was kidnapped by Simon, she was taken care of by the old servants. When they left, the old servant couldn't bear to leave her behind, so he had the rest of the servants take her back to the castle together.

In the midst of a gathering of servants, Charlotte witnessed Simon being slapped by his mother before being confined to the dungeon.

It was during the altercation between Simon and his mother that Charlotte first became aware of the reward.

Seizing an opportunity, Charlotte pilfered a servant's phone and adeptly accessed her father's account on the dark web.

After deliberating for a moment, she decided to take on the task.

Then she snapped her pencil for doing homework and took out two small pills from inside, adding them to Prince Simon's belongings while the old servant went to deliver meals.

After the old servant left, she took a chef's knife she had stolen from the kitchen, as well as a backpack and a plastic bag, and calmly picked the lock with a wire.

She entered without haste.

Simon had a poor appetite, but he ate well. At this moment, the drug took effect, causing him to be paralyzed and unable to move, but still conscious and able to speak with difficulty.

"You!"

When Simon saw Charlotte, he immediately widened his eyes.

"I'm sorry, but I can get 250 million if I kill you. I can go to my father's organization and completely sever his ties with them. He won't be pursued anymore, and no one will threaten him," Charlotte said earnestly to Simon.

Charlotte's beautiful eyes looked incredibly sincere. Not even the slightest hint of intention to murder.

"No." Simon was terrified. He wanted to struggle and call for help.

But he couldn't move or shout.

"My father taught me that before attacking someone with a significant power difference, you should first make them lose their mobility. My drug is very effective, no matter how you struggle," Charlotte explained, raising the chef's knife.

Seeing this, Simon quickly said, "Are you going to help the person who harmed your father commit murder?"

The knife hung in the air. "My father is dead?"

Simon's throat tightened as he spoke, his voice gradually fading. "He accepted my task to kill the person who issued the task, the spouse, and their child. It was discovered a few days ago that I couldn't contact him. It's almost certain that he was killed!" Then, with a breathless urgency, he added, "You can't take the task of killing your father's enemy!"

Charlotte was briefly stunned.

Then she looked at Simon coldly and said, "I choose to earn this 250 million first. If my father is really dead, I will seek revenge."

After Charlotte finished speaking, she didn't give Simon a chance to argue.

With a swift motion, she ended Simon's life.

Simon didn't even leave behind any last words before his head separated from his body.

Charlotte took out a wet wipe from her pocket, slowly wiped the blood off her face, and then packed up the head. She looked up at the ventilation window.

Charlotte had already surveyed it when she came. This location was an excellent escape point. It was outside the patrol range of the royal guard on all three sides.

So, Charlotte, with the severed head, agilely made her way out of the window and slid down a sturdy water pipe.

She put on the raincoat she had placed there earlier and carefully left, avoiding the patrol's gaze.

"If you're so capable, why didn't you escape earlier?" Fiona asked, shocked by Charlotte's revelation.

"If I had escaped, Simon would have informed the organization my father defected from," Charlotte explained, her voice steady. "They would have hunted him down. But my father is old now, no longer the skilled hunter he once was. The people in the organization are young and strong. If his whereabouts were exposed, they could easily kill him."

Fiona's expression darkened as she processed the gravity of the situation. "I understand," she responded solemnly. "I will have someone contact you later, and you can see your father."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

Charlotte hung up the video call.

"Are you Christopher's daughter?" the blind old man next to her asked, frowning.

Charlotte looked at him. She seemed like a girl who didn't know fear.

She blinked her eyes briefly. "Are you my father's enemy?"

The old man quickly waved his hand. "He used to come to me for tasks. I've seen him a few times. I heard he stopped his violent ways and settled down over a decade ago, turns out he became a father!"

Charlotte paused, contemplating the situation.

Her father hadn't stopped because of her; rather, he'd decided he had earned sufficient money and didn't want to continue fighting.

As for her own origins, she was discovered by him while he was wandering, in a garbage dump.

"I want to change to a legal identity, how much will it cost?" Charlotte asked the old man.

The old man laughed heartily. "You helped our organization complete a massive deal, my boss made a fortune. If you need a new identity, we'll give it to you!"

"I need it as soon as possible tonight."

"Don't worry." the old man nodded.

Looking forward to Charlotte's future endeavors, the old man anticipated her return with more tasks.
