Chapter 1306

It was impossible to find any traces now because Brooke used her financial clout to wipe out everything that could be erased.

Back then, this was the hot gossip among the rich families.

Overseas media splashed photos of Aiden's fiancée's body all over when it was found.

"Who knows what's true after thirty-some years?" Fiona dodged the question. "Anyway, my gut tells me we can't let Rose get close to Darwin."

Wyatt asked, "Then why do you keep Rose around?"

Fiona thought for a moment. "There's something off about her, but I can't put my finger on it yet. Plus, she seems pretty unhappy with me being a female CEO making waves in a male-dominated world."

Wyatt was confused. "Wasn't she raised by Grandma Mitchell? How could she think like that? Does she believe women should just stick to traditional roles?"

"Something like that." Fiona swirled her wine glass. "So I brought her out to see the new world."

"Are you really that kind-hearted?" Wyatt was skeptical.

Fiona immediately said with a hint of innocence, "Mr. Durham, I've always been known for my kind heart."

Wyatt didn't deny it; Fiona wasn't wrong.

When the folks in Darwin's executive office heard Fiona was leaving, they were all pretty upset.

Some even thought about quitting because of it.

Any team that worked with Fiona, no matter how much they disliked her at first, ended up admiring her.

But ever since Fiona stopped being Ms. Woods, Wyatt saw her differently.

Her kindness wasn't thrown around carelessly, especially not on someone she thought had issues and whose values she despised.

Wyatt didn't push further.

As an adult, it wasn't his place to dig into everything like a kid.

After lunch, Fiona was heading back to Bay City.

Wyatt personally took Fiona to the airport.

Rose and the other staff who had lunch with Fiona were already waiting.

She glanced at Wyatt.

Wyatt's respect for Fiona was clear.

"Thanks for your hospitality, Mr. Durham. I'll see you on your big day," Fiona said politely.

"Alright, tell Mrs. Janna Rhoads I'll join her for dinner once I'm done!" Wyatt nodded.

"Okay." Fiona nodded back.

Wyatt greeted the others and then turned to leave.

"Ms. Woods, the bidding meeting is over, and the results are in your email," George walked up to Fiona and said softly.

Fiona nodded.

The company that had worked with Fiona in Valcia ended up with less than a third of the orders.

Fiona confirmed this.

Then she told George, "Reschedule my itinerary and set up a half-day meeting with Octavius."

"Yes!" George responded.

Rose followed behind Fiona, not getting a word in the whole time.

She seemed out of place with the group.
