Chapter 332 Plunged into Madness

Darwin's official announcement was thorough. Employees of Solomon Enterprises around the globe received an email from headquarters.

"It's not true! It's a damn lie!" Lilian was nearly hysterical.

Just a short while ago, Chelsea had broken things off with Darwin because he had taken her side. How could they possibly be married so soon? Marrying Darwin had been Lilian’s long-cherished dream. She had been convinced it was only a matter of time before she became his bride before Chelsea entered the picture.

And now Darwin was married.

His marriage had been revealed with a high-profile official announcement, but the bride was not her... The thought consumed her with rage.

She touched her abdomen, unwilling to let go, and picked up her phone to call Darwin. She had called him countless times these past few days. But...

"The number you have dialed is not in service."

The same mechanical voice answered, emanating from the earpiece.

"Argh!" Lilian hurled the phone across the room in a fit of anger.

She stumbled to her feet, swung open her bedroom door, and dashed downstairs. As she reached the living room, her eyes immediately caught sight of Anniston’s urn. She recoiled, then, in a fit of insanity, sprinted to the urn.

"You were never strong enough, Anniston. Chelsea’s insulted your memory, and you can't even influence Darwin from beyond! You're allowing her to step into your place and claim a share of the Solomon legacy! It's just so unfair!" Lilian vented her anger at the urn.
Then, she ran toward the front door.

As always, someone was keeping watch outside.

She flung open the door, and the guard outside quickly turned, fixing her with a menacing glare.

"I need to see Chelsea!" she shouted at the guard. "Call her right now!"

"Who do you think you are? Do you really think you can just summon Chelsea on a whim?" The voice came from one of Stuart’s burly, sarcastic henchmen.

Lilian’s face turned ashen. "I saved Darwin’s life! If you treat me like this, he’ll avenge me sooner or later!"

"We only had two orders from Chelsea. Either you stay inside the Klein Mansion with the man you killed, or we finish you the moment you step out of the mansion. We won’t respond to any of your requests. Got it?"

Lilian bit her lip fiercely.

After a tense standoff with the guards, she turned back and slammed the mansion's grand door shut. She paced the living room nervously, biting her thumb until it bled.

Finally, she glanced in the direction of the front door one last time, her mind racing.

‘You need to keep it together, Lilian. Don’t panic. So what if they’re married? Divorces are a dime a dozen these days. Stay cool. Just make sure the little one inside you grows up healthy and strong.

‘You'll be able to leave this hellhole someday. When that time comes, you'll have plenty of ways to drive Chelsea away!

‘But until then, you must endure... and endure some more...’

While Lilian was on the verge of a breakdown, the internet was ablaze with a conversation about Darwin's sudden wedding announcement.

Some people suspected that they had already been married long before, and Mr. Solomon was trying to maintain his image as a devoted partner by making a big show announcing his marriage now because of the argument that had been caught on video!

"So the question is, if they were already married, how 'early' is this early? Is there a possibility that a tycoon meddled in Darwin's first love story?"

Doubts and speculations were rampant.

Janna was unhappy about Darwin and Fiona's seemingly rushed marriage, so she refused to let the Rhoads family's PR department make any statement about Darwin's marriage announcement.

Deep into the night, away from the clamor of the internet, Fiona's life was much quieter.

Janna had rushed out after dinner, her purpose unclear.

Kenny had left for a meeting at the office and then came to pick up Thalassa afterward.

Fiona walked Thalassa down to the street.

"We just need to find a suitable bone marrow donor. You and Kenny should do what you need to. Don't let this hold you back," Fiona advised.

Thalassa nodded in agreement: "I understand, babe... you and Darwin..."

Fiona chuckled. "Don't look so worried. It’s not like I've stepped into a pit of fire. If you think about it, this isn’t too bad."

Thalassa opened her arms and hugged Fiona, whispering gently, "No matter what, I just want you to be happy."

"Yeah," Fiona mused, feeling a mix of emotions, "You’d better go, Kenny's waiting for you."

Thalassa let go of Fiona.

With not much else to say, she waved goodbye and ran off toward Kenny.

Once in the car, Thalassa couldn't help but read the online comments about Darwin and Fiona's wedding.

"Stop reading that," Kenny said resignedly. "Those people's opinions won't determine their fate."

"Some folks are just mean!" Thalassa frowned. "They’re just speculating, but they don’t know anything! How dare they call my girl the mistress in the relationship between Lilian and Darwin? Lilian’s the one who’s been muscling in for the past five years!"

"Is Lilian still causing problems?" Kenny asked.

He rarely asked about this.

"Not yet!" Thalassa grumbled with growing irritation. "Darwin had the nerve to tell Fiona not to mess with Lilian! That bastard!"

"They say Lilian saved his life once," Kenny replied helplessly. "If it hadn't been for that, he probably would never have let her off the hook."

Thalassa was defensive and didn’t understand Darwin's perspective.

"Plus, I heard that when Lilian got involved with European royalty, Anniston and Grandma Solomon, along with her own family, pressured her into it. She suffered a lot there, which is why he feels guilt over her."

"No way! When did he ever feel guilty when he was bullying my Fiona?" Thalassa retorted, then suddenly, as if something had dawned on her, asked, "Wait, what did you just say?"

Kenny glanced at him. "Which part?"

"Darwin forced Lilian into marrying royalty?" Aston sat up, looking shocked. "According to an old rumor, Lilian thought Darwin couldn’t be saved after he became fell into a vegetative state, so she ditched him for royal life."

"People did say that," Kenny nodded. "But when Lilian came back, that's when he learned it wasn't the case."

"Bullshit!"

Thalassa was so livid she even swore in front of Kenny, who could sense her unprecedented anger.

He slowly pulled over to the curb. "Mrs. Walker, do you know something?"

"The truth is," Thalassa declared, "Lilian thought Darwin was beyond hope and attempted to ascend the royal ranks, only to fail miserably!" "
