Chapter 58 Did you Have Someone Spy on me?
A wave of pure rage ripped through Rupert's chest.
This was all on Darwin! He was about to get hitched, but he still had Fiona locked down!
Rupert knew he couldn't just sit back; he had to save Fiona!
The car zoomed down the road.
Darwin was behind the wheel.
"Darwin, slow the hell down!" Fiona clung to the seatbelt, her hair practically standing on end.
"Afraid of dying?" Darwin's face was stone-cold, his voice even colder.
"Obviously!" Fiona shot back.
Darwin let out a bitter laugh. "Scared of dying, but you still mess with me like this?"
"What did I even do to you?" Fiona was at a loss. "I bumped into Rupert by accident, and all that stuff between us is just in your head. I've told you this!"
Darwin gave her a long, hard look.
He didn't say another word.
He drove straight back to his place.
Darwin hated crowds.
The servants always left after their work was done.
So, the big house was empty.
Darwin yanked Fiona out of the elevator by her hand.
Her wrist throbbed from his grip. "Darwin, you're hurting me!"
In the next second, Darwin tossed her onto the couch.
"What's your problem?" Fiona sat up, fuming.
If this jerk hurt her kid, she'd take him down with her!
Darwin walked up to her.
Looking down at her, he grabbed her jaw. "You won't let me touch you, but you went out picking up guys?"
Fiona stayed silent.
"I spent all night thinking about how to make you happy, how to please you, and you went find your own fun?" Darwin was mad enough to strangle her.
He'd done so much already.
What more did she want?
She had the nerve to go to a bar and pick up guys!
If he hadn't been waiting for her news all night and saw an unread message in a friend's group chat, he would've never known that the girl he was busting his ass to please was out there surrounded by dudes, flirting away.
"I wasn't picking up guys!" Fiona said firmly, "Those were Thalassa's friends!"
"Still lying!" Darwin roared, "Look for yourself!"
He let go of Fiona and tossed his phone next to her.
On the screen was a photo Noah had shared in the group.
Fiona looked up at Darwin. "You had someone spy on me?"
"I never thought of it before; I was just scared you'd run off. But today, you taught me a lesson." Darwin gritted his teeth. "From now on, I'll have someone watch you 24/7. If you so much as flirt with another guy, I'll chop him up!"
"Darwin, you're being ridiculous!" Fiona's eyes filled with angry tears. "If you're so sure, go check the bar's surveillance. I didn't even touch a drink. My conscience is clear!"
"That doesn't matter!" Darwin's anger wasn't cooling down.
"Fiona, you've drained all my patience." He loosened his tie.
Fiona shrank back. "You said you wouldn't force me!"
"Of course." Darwin pulled off his tie. "This whole thing was set up by Thalassa, right?"
"What are you planning to do?" Fiona immediately got defensive.
"How should I punish her?" Darwin asked with a cold smile, "Should I start with her stepdad's factory? Or just chop off her hand?"
"Darwin, don't do anything crazy!" Fiona was terrified.
"So, what are you gonna do?" Darwin handed her the tie, looking down at her with zero emotion.
Fiona just sat there, her face going pale bit by bit.
She froze for a moment.
Humiliated tears started rolling down her cheeks.
With shaky hands, she took the tie, hooking it with her fingers.
Darwin had a thing for tying her hands with a tie.
She skillfully wrapped the dark satin tie around her wrists.
Then she stood up, glanced at Darwin.
She lowered her eyes and kissed him willingly.
"Did I force you?" Darwin asked.
Fiona said nothing, just shook her head.
"Answer me, did I force you?" Darwin's hand caressed the back of her neck, slowly exploring.
"No," Fiona replied.
"Good." Darwin pulled her closer and kissed her deeply.
Darwin knew exactly how to get to Fiona.
She quickly gave in.
Looking at the big floor-to-ceiling window, Fiona trembled as she spoke to Darwin, "Let's go to the bedroom."
"We'll go in a bit." Darwin kissed her ears.
He wasn't as rough anymore, but Fiona was still worried.
She nuzzled against Darwin's neck. "Don't be so harsh, I'm scared."
Whether it was her plea that worked, or because Fiona was being cooperative and gentle, the thing Fiona feared didn't happen.
Darwin was even, for once, very gentle.
But Fiona was still wiped out.
After it was over, she crashed immediately.
Darwin, now satisfied, had lost most of his anger.
Looking at Fiona's tear-streaked, sad face, he had a mix of emotions.
When he saw that photo tonight, he had felt murderous.
He rushed over and saw Rupert pulling at her.
Anger and fear overwhelmed Darwin.
"Fiona, what do I have to do to make you stay with me willingly?" He gently stroked her cheek, wiping away the tears from the corner of her eye with a pained expression.
Darwin helplessly held her in his arms.
When his hand touched hers, the scar on the back of her hand felt rough.
Just now, she had pleaded with him more than once, saying she was afraid of pain, asking him not to hurt her.
Compared to the pain he caused, how much more did it hurt when the glass pierced her? And how much more did it hurt when the wound was stitched without anesthesia?
Darwin initially couldn't understand why Fiona didn't use anesthesia.
But tonight, he suddenly figured it out.
At that time, she had also seen Hathaway.
In that moment, she was so terrified.
So, she didn't use anesthesia to keep herself awake? To firmly leave him?
Darwin thought for a long time.
He didn't sleep well all night.
He woke up every now and then, checking to see if Fiona was still there, kissing her when he confirmed she was.
Fiona knew nothing of this.
She slept until noon.
When she woke up, Darwin was already gone.
She felt no disappointment. Instead, she sighed in relief.
She lazed in bed for a while, then got up to take a shower.
Logically, Darwin knew she had no clothes here, so he would have someone buy some, like in Capital City.
But he didn't.
Fiona's clothes were nowhere to be found.
They were torn anyway, probably thrown away by Darwin.
There was no other option, Fiona had to take a shirt from Darwin's closet and put it on.
Just as she finished changing, the door opened.
Darwin walked in, bringing a chill with him.
