Chapter 1310
Wyatt skimmed through the papers and pulled out a couple of files. "QuantumLeap Technologies and Stellar Solutions have both signed preliminary agreements with the Durham group. The letters of intent are done, and reps from both sides will be meeting for formal talks soon."
"No way!" Lucian stared at Wyatt, stunned. "You're just a playboy!"
"Am I?" Wyatt didn't get mad. He leaned against the table, arms crossed, and looked at Lucian. "So why are they willing to work with a playboy like me and not you? I heard you waited at QuantumLeap Technologies for two days and didn't even get to see the project director."
Lucian's face went pale. "Did you set this up?"
"You're giving me too much credit. Back then, I was still wandering around Solitude Prairie Fields," Wyatt chuckled coldly. "Uncle Lucian, your self-pity is really making the Durham group look bad!"
Lucian still couldn't believe it.
He'd been in this industry for over thirty years, longer than Wyatt had been alive.
QuantumLeap Technologies wouldn't even talk to him, but within three days of Wyatt's return, they had a preliminary agreement with him.
And then there was Stellar Solutions.
Lucian glanced at the documents next to Wyatt.
There were even more companies like QuantumLeap Technologies.
"I don't believe it! Don't just grab any document to fool me!" Lucian snatched the papers from Wyatt's hand and started reading them.
The more he read, the more upset he got.
What QuantumLeap Technologies offered wasn't small potatoes. When he first tried to discuss cooperation with Stellar Solutions, it was only a few tens of millions of dollars, and they didn't even look at the project proposal.
But Wyatt's deal was worth eight hundred million dollars.
"Why?" Lucian was getting seriously clobbered.
The assistant next to him had a kind expression. "Mr. Montgomery, don't be angry. You know Mr. Durham is good at socializing. Now that he's taken over the Durham group, his friends are just sending some gifts."
Even though Wyatt left and told the assistant to look for new opportunities, the assistant had stayed behind with Gideon to help solve problems.
As a result, he often bore the brunt of Lucian's anger.
Lucian knew it couldn't be such a ridiculous reason.
Even if the heirs behind these companies were once Wyatt's friends, they were only useful when they could be exploited. If the Durham family was in trouble, it would be good enough if their friends didn't kick them while they were down.
How could they possibly hand over such a big project to Wyatt?
"Did you secretly offer huge kickbacks? Wyatt, if you're using superficial orders to keep up appearances for the Durham group, you'll ultimately bring disaster upon yourself!" Lucian continued to shout, wanting everyone outside to hear.
Wyatt listened and sneered, "People are indeed like this. They see the world as a reflection of themselves. Lucian, you might do such things, but I wouldn't."
Lucian was breathing heavily.
He glared at Wyatt, but Wyatt stood there, looking at him very calmly.
The playful smile in Wyatt's eyes had disappeared, replaced by a calm and unfathomable gaze.
"Was your previous act just to deceive me? To confuse me?" Lucian asked through gritted teeth. "Wyatt, I thought I treated you well. From childhood to adulthood, whatever your parents wouldn't give you, I was willing to give you!"
Before he could finish his self-praise, Wyatt laughed. "Lucian, have you convinced yourself? Or do you genuinely think I'm too stupid to see what you're trying to do? Why didn't my parents give me what I wanted?"
Large beads of sweat had already formed on Lucian's forehead.
Wyatt retorted, "That's because most of the things I wanted before weren't suitable for me at the time, and you worked hard to make me feel for a long time that you were better than my parents."
