Chapter 1108
After the long-awaited greetings and praises for Fiona, the shareholders' meeting finally began.
Antony sat behind Darwin with the president's office team.
He watched Darwin handle the shareholders effortlessly, knowing all the data inside out.
Antony looked a bit surprised.
Two hours later, the review was done.
Next up were approvals for new contracts.
Project proposals were handed out to the shareholders.
The room was silent except for the sound of pages turning.
This quarter's proposals were crucial for next year's first-half profits.
Everyone was serious since their money was on the line.
But in less than ten minutes, someone spoke up, "Something's off."
Everyone looked up.
A few unfamiliar shareholders were sitting in the middle.
Zachary held up the proposal.
"Mr. Solomon, isn't this the project we pitched last year, which you rejected?" He frowned. "You pointed out a bunch of issues back then."
"And this one, you also rejected the numbers before."
The room buzzed with chatter.
"Mr. Solomon, this affects all our interests. Such a glaring mistake in the new proposal makes me think of a rumor I've heard recently!" Elijah added.
Darwin leaned back, fingers intertwined.
He looked at them. "Rumor? What kind of rumor?"
"Someone said you lost all your memory from an injury! You can't even read, and a kid at home has to teach you from scratch!" The man said loudly.
The room erupted in chaos.
"Nonsense!" Henry stood up and shouted.
"When I first heard this, I thought the same as Mr. Clark. How could such an absurd thing be true?" the man continued, "But look at what you're holding now. This is the current proposal from Mr. Solomon. Does it meet his usual standards?"
He held up the proposal, looked around the room, and shouted provocatively.
Then he looked at Darwin again.
But Darwin didn't show the panic or helplessness they expected.
He just sat there, staring at him.
"Before you start shouting, why don't you take a good look at what's in your hands?" Darwin said.
The speakers were stunned.
They hadn't really looked at the documents.
They were too scared of Darwin to waste time on that.
"Look at the project documents!" Darwin scanned the crowd coldly. "See if that meets my standards."
Everyone went silent.
They started flipping through the documents.
"And you, don't just stand there like idiots. Open your eyes, use your brains, and look at the proposals in your hands!" Darwin said to the three who had stood up.
His tone dripped with sarcasm.
The three suddenly felt a buzzing in their ears, realizing something.
They immediately sat down, faces pale, and started flipping through the proposals.
They hadn't seen the content yet.
Their faces turned even paler.
They didn't dare look up, feeling Darwin's gaze on them, or maybe not.
They didn't dare move at all.
It was like a huge black hole had opened up behind them, ready to suck them in and tear them apart.
