Chapter 1071
The next day, Fiona was going to see Ethan off.
Originally, she wanted Chicago to come along, but she refused.
"I'll definitely cry!" She pouted, her eyes red. "It's a good thing Ethan is going to study abroad. If I go and cry, it'll bring him bad luck. I'm not going."
"Who taught you that?" Fiona said, feeling a strong desire to laugh and cry at the same time.
Stuart slowly averted his eyes.
Strictly speaking, he wasn't the one who taught her that.
He had mentioned the idea of bad luck before, but who knew Chicago would pick it up so quickly?
"Alright then." Fiona nodded. "Do you have anything you want me to give to Ethan?"
Chicago thought for a moment.
She took out a very delicate pocket watch from her drawer. The pocket watch was small, with a beautifully crafted butterfly on the dial. Upon closer inspection, the entire butterfly was inlaid with colorful gems, making it very luxurious.
The key point was that the hands of the pocket watch were still ticking normally.
"Isn't this your treasure?" Fiona leaned against the door frame.
The pocket watch was custom-made two years ago by Janna, based on a butterfly she had drawn.
Chicago liked it very much.
"A treasure should be given to a good friend," Chicago said as she carefully placed the pocket watch into a box that also had a butterfly on it.
She and Ethan would both grow into wonderful adults. Time would not be an obstacle to their friendship! They would definitely reunite even better!
At the airport, Fiona immediately saw Ethan, who was talking with Randy's family.
She hurried over.
Ethan quickly noticed her.
After a slight look of surprise, he saw Darwin slowly walking behind Fiona.
All the emotions on his face instantly disappeared.
"That's Mr. Solomon and Mrs. Solomon. They must be here to see someone off too," Randy said.
Ethan remained silent.
Fiona quickly reached him. "Ethan, I'm here to give you a gift from Chicago."
Ethan didn't look at Fiona. "No need."
"She picked it out carefully." Fiona took the small box from her bag, pulled Ethan's hand, and placed the box in his palm. "This is Chicago's treasure. She said a treasure should be given to the best friend."
Ethan still didn't look up.
His gaze was fixed on the small velvet box.
"What's wrong?" Darwin caught up and asked gently.
The next second, Ethan clenched the hand holding the gift. "Please send my thanks to Chicago."
"If you feel uncomfortable or need any help over there, contact me immediately, okay?" Fiona squatted in front of Ethan, straightening his slightly messy collar. "Ethan, since you've chosen this path, you need to walk it well. I'm waiting for the day your name becomes well-known."
"I will." Ethan finally looked up at Fiona. "I definitely will!"
"I believe in you!" Fiona patted his head.
Randy checked the time.
"It's about time to go through security. It's a hassle to get through customs now; don't miss your flight."
"Yes."
Fiona stood up. "Remember to send me a message when you get there."
Ethan responded.
He held the gift box tightly.
After saying goodbye, he turned and walked towards the security checkpoint. He didn't look back even once after passing through.
Randy couldn't hold back. He started crying.
"Randy, don't you feel embarrassed?" Brenda said quietly, "Ethan is heading towards a bright future. Why are you crying?"
"I've witnessed Ethan's growth, and now I won't see him for a long time. What's wrong with crying?" Randy mumbled.
