Chapter 843 Facing Retribution
Fiona and Darwin were rushed to the hospital.
Wyatt had already been taken to the ward. His condition deteriorated rapidly, showing symptoms of multiple organ failure.
"Let's observe him in the ICU first; the patient lacks the will to live," the attending physician said with a heavy expression, "Has he encountered something?"
Emma was at a loss. She couldn't even reply to the doctor's inquiry, clutching her chest and bending over in pain.
Seeing this, Ryan quickly poured two aspirin and fed them to her.
After a few words with Fiona and the attending physician, the doctor busied himself with other matters.
"How could this happen!" Emma, supported by Ryan, sat on a chair in the corridor, and after a moment, she covered her face and sobbed, "Wyatt was born after ten months of pregnancy, born after a difficult birth. I have cherished him since childhood. Just for a woman, he lost his will to live."
Fiona didn't expect Wyatt's condition to deteriorate so rapidly and severely.
Upon hearing Emma's words, Fiona's anger flared up. She said, "At this point, do you still want to blame Stella?"
Emma trembled.
Although Ryan knew that Emma had really crossed the line this time, he instinctively stood up to defend her, saying, "Mrs. Solomon, my wife is already in great pain, can't you..."
"Mr. Durham, have you ever thought about why your wife is so overbearing?" Fiona looked at Ryan and launched an indiscriminate attack, saying, "It's because you always side with her regardless of right or wrong. While Wyatt has his reasons for being where he is today, she is also to blame! She still wants to blame Stella, can't I say that?"
Ryan's face darkened, and he glanced at Darwin behind Fiona.
He just moved his lips but didn't dare to retort.
"Yes, Mrs. Solomon, you are right, it's my fault!" Emma suddenly reached out, grabbed Fiona's hand, and said as if grasping at a last glimmer of hope, "Please help us, for Wyatt's sake, call Stella back to see him. He is my only son, he is still young, he can't die like this!"
Fiona furrowed her brow and said, "Stella and Alexander left for a vacation in the Lindwell jungle when we departed, and they didn't plan to bring any communication devices. I can't reach her."
Emma's pupils dilated, looking even more panicked. She still held onto Fiona's hand, saying, "Mrs. Solomon, you are a good person; help Wyatt; I beg you to help him!"
With that, she slid off the chair onto the floor, directly kneeling in front of Fiona.
"Emma!" Ryan hurried forward, trying to pull her up.
"Darwin! You are so capable; you must be able to find Stella. Wyatt is your childhood friend; you grew up together. Please, help!" Emma cried out in despair.
Then, before she could catch her breath, her eyes rolled back, and she fainted.
And so, chaos ensued once again.
Wyatt had not yet passed the critical period, and Emma was rushed back for further treatment.
Ryan followed, and Fiona and Darwin went to Wyatt's room, looking in through the ICU's observation glass.
In just two days, Wyatt looked even thinner than he did at the wedding.
There was no sign of life in him.
He was covered in tubes, surrounded by medical devices assisting his life.
"How did it come to this?" Fiona sighed.
Suddenly, she remembered when she faked her death and left.
Darwin seemed to have been seriously ill and hospitalized for half a year.
She had yet to look into this matter since she returned.
She suddenly remembered, was he also critically ill back then?
"We need to get Stella here," Darwin suddenly said.
Fiona instinctively frowned. She glanced at Wyatt again.
"I'll try to contact her," Fiona sighed softly and said, "Men are all the same; they don't know how to cherish someone who truly cares for them until they are gone, and then they are filled with grief and lose all vitality."
Darwin stood there, looking like a scolded child.
Fiona made a call to Preston.
"Mrs. Solomon, have you landed safely?" Preston was in a good mood.
Recently, due to Alexander marrying Stella, many people were secretly criticizing the Beaumont family.
Although the Beaumont family members never cared about such things, now that Stella had been vindicated, Preston was in a very good mood!
"Yes." Fiona fell silent for a moment, then got straight to the point. "Preston, can you reach Alexander?"
"What's going on?" Preston asked in confusion, "He didn't bring any communication devices when he left."
"I'm at the hospital now; Wyatt has been notified as critically ill," Fiona said solemnly.
"What?" There was a sound of something breaking on Preston's end, apparently he was so surprised that he stood up and knocked something over. "You don't say. Because Alexander married Stella, Wyatt wants to end his life!"
"If only it were that simple," Fiona sighed and said, "Wyatt seems to have lost all hope. After fainting at home, he inexplicably developed multiple organ failure; the doctor said he has no will to live, and now his life hangs by a thread on medical machines."
"Is this a case of 'anger harming the heart,' threatening his life?" Preston murmured, "But Mrs. Solomon, involving Stella in this matter, is it appropriate? We are not unkind people, but recently, I have also learned some things. Before his death, Wyatt, no, his past actions of bullying Stella. Let me say this, isn't it fair to say that he is now facing retribution? Why should Stella sacrifice her honeymoon with Alexander to go back and see him?"
"Regardless of whether Stella returns, she needs to know about this," Fiona replied, "She wouldn't want Wyatt to die because of her."
There was a moment of silence from Preston.
Then he said, "I'll try to contact her; I seem to have the contact information of the guide they hired."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
The call ended.
Fiona thought for a moment and then sent a message to Stella.
She briefly explained the situation here.
The message was sent, but there was no response.
Stella's latest social media post was a photo of her and Alexander before they left for Lindwell.
Fiona put her phone away. Looking through the glass, she glanced at Wyatt again.
Time passed slowly.
Emma was revived, and despite objections, she insisted on coming over to stand guard by Wyatt's side with her exhausted body.
When she saw Fiona and Wyatt, she hurriedly asked, "Have you found Stella?"
After receiving a negative answer, Emma's face became even more pale and haggard.
Overnight, she aged significantly, shakily walking to the observation window, looking at the still silent Wyatt. Tears of regret rolled down her cheeks.
