Chapter 1115
She took her time driving to the Solomons.
At a nearby café known for its artisanal coffee, she ordered a cup to the Solomons.
The afternoon meeting was more urgent than the morning one.
After finishing the project proposals, it was time for the quarterly reports from the subsidiaries.
Even though Fiona had been improving the Solomons' performance, she couldn't oversee every subsidiary.
Problems and losses still popped up.
While Fiona stayed calm handling these issues, Darwin was a different story. His anger over obvious mistakes made the conference room tense.
"If this keeps up next quarter, you might as well resign," Darwin snapped, tossing the documents aside.
His disgust was obvious.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
The sound startled everyone.
George from the president's office walked in.
Darwin looked over.
"Mr. Solomon, Mrs. Solomon sent coffee for everyone," George announced.
Darwin's expression softened.
"Alright," he said.
The door opened fully, and several people from the president's office handed out the coffee.
The tense atmosphere in the room eased thanks to Fiona's gesture.
Zachary and two others got their coffee too.
The three exchanged glances.
Zachary thought, 'Fiona's really trying to make her presence felt, huh?'
Darwin's mood noticeably improved for the rest of the meeting.
Even when subsidiaries made dumb mistakes later, he didn't lash out too much.
The meeting dragged on until 4:00 p.m. before finally wrapping up.
Darwin stood up, his gaze sweeping across the room. "I hope we can work well together in the future."
With that, he nodded slightly and left the room.
Some shareholders watched him leave, clearly disappointed.
After the morning's drama, they expected Darwin to lay down the law on his first day back.
Instead, he just said 'work well together' and let it go!
What a letdown!
Zachary and the others were just as confused.
What was going on?
Elijah, looking pale and defeated, muttered as the room emptied, "It's over. He doesn't even want an explanation. He'll just hire a hitman to take us out! What do we do? I'm dead!"
"Pathetic!" Zachary snapped at Elijah, then glared at the door. "If he won't come to us, we'll go and explain everything! We did it for the company's good!"
