Chapter 1323
Darwin and Aiden were in totally different boats.
Aiden's hallucinations were all over the place, with no specific person or thing showing up. His body and mind were getting wrecked, leading to a ton of hallucinations from all his wounds.
Even with Marisole's love and Aldrich's medical skills combined, Aiden's wounds were just too deep. They kept peeling back layers of hurt, only to find new wounds underneath, showing the hidden trauma festering inside him.
So, when Aiden, who was taking his meds properly, suddenly had an episode and killed Marisole, Aldrich was completely floored.
He went over Aiden's medical records a million times but still couldn't figure out what the final issue was with Aiden.
Understanding the root of Darwin's illness gave Hubert a much-needed foothold.
Finding the source could potentially lead to a cure.
But he also learned from Aldrich's experience with Aiden and wouldn't assume that the identified source was the only trigger for Darwin's condition.
He would keep digging and evaluating, eliminating all potential hidden dangers.
Under the influence of medication, Darwin quickly fell asleep.
Hubert left his room and gave some more instructions to the caregivers.
Mike was standing not far away. He was so tall that he completely blocked the light, and his gaze at Hubert was full of hostility.
"He's calmed down now. Don't worry; it's not bad news. I'll call Ms. Rhoads to explain the situation tonight," Hubert said gently.
Mike stared at him and replied, "My alarm only goes off when Mr. Solomon's life is in danger. Mrs. Rhoads trusts you a lot and has spent a lot of money to support your research. You need to live up to her trust."
"Mike, rest assured," Hubert responded and looked at Mike. Mike and Stuart radiated a chilling aura of violence, inspiring fear in many. However, Hubert's gaze, fixed on Mike, remained remarkably calm. "I need to call Ms. Rhoads now," he said, "Would you mind stepping aside?" Hearing this, Mike complied.
Hubert took a couple of steps and looked back at Mike. "The danger is now over. This is a special ward, and you can't stay here any longer," he said.
Mike was speechless, thinking, 'That frail Hubert, I could knock out two of him with one punch; what is he being so domineering about?'
Despite his inner thoughts, Mike quickly left.
Chelsea had said that unless it was an emergency, Mike had to listen to Hubert in all matters here.
Meanwhile, Hubert returned to his office.
He unbuttoned two buttons on his shirt and let out a long breath.
Mike was worried about Darwin, and so was Hubert.
Hubert had run out of the lab just now, his heart pounding.
After calming down for a moment, he called Fiona.
Today was Mason's birthday, and Stella, afraid of triggering sad memories, was praying for Mason at a famous church in Bay City.
Since Fiona rarely had free time, she joined Ashton in accompanying Stella.
Melissa was too young to enter the church, so Alexander and Kenny were outside with Melissa.
Before Fiona received the call, she had just prayed devoutly in the hall.
Hubert was always concise in his speech.
Although the situation was dangerous, he lightly mentioned it, only saying it was a good sign.
"So it was that early," Fiona murmured.
She had always thought that Darwin couldn't sleep well because he was too sad after being abandoned by Lilian.
