Chapter 1293

Lucian could barely keep his anger in check. He forced a smile and quickly said, "My bad, Ms. Woods. Don't sweat it! I'll make it up later!"

Fiona smiled but didn't say anything.

Lucian's mouth twitched, and he slowly sat back down.

Just as he was about to kick off the meeting, Wyatt's voice cut in. "Let's get started then."

Lucian suddenly felt a lump in his throat, making him super uncomfortable. He really wanted to punch someone right now.

"Should we just vote? Or what?" He glanced around.

"Yeah, let's vote first, pick a chairman, and let them handle the group's issues."

"Agreed, let's vote first!"

People on his side had different takes.

Wyatt's crew chimed in, "Why rush the vote? We should first lay out the group's problems over the years, find who's responsible, and see who's been messing with the Durham Group!"

"What are you implying? Just say who's been messing with the Durham Group."

"Exactly, didn't we sort out the group's issues two months ago? Gideon got the boot because of it. Need a reminder?"

Normally, Lucian would step in with a friendly vibe to calm things down. But today, he sat there like a statue, smiling non-stop, with no plans to speak up.

"Enough," Wyatt said.

The two bickering teams, faces red with frustration, stopped arguing.

"Wyatt, are you trying to defend your dad?" Lucian finally spoke, trying to sound like a caring elder. "You must've heard, I was the one who painfully suggested dismissing your dad at that shareholders' meeting. It was really..."

"If you know I've heard, then don't waste our time with this nonsense." Wyatt cut off Lucian's fake goodwill coldly.

Lucian's rambling was just to remind the shareholders that Gideon had hurt the Durham Group's reputation.

As soon as Wyatt spoke, his assistant handed out prepared materials to the shareholders.

Seeing this, Lucian's expression changed again.

Logically, as the current chairman of the Durham Group, Wyatt should've informed him about this process.

But Lucian wasn't worried.

To him, Wyatt was just lucky, with a few good friends helping him out. He barely got involved in the Durham Group's affairs, always partying and chasing women.

So, in Lucian's eyes, Wyatt was just a useless guy, not worth relying on.

The only wildcard today was probably Fiona.
