Chapter 1089

Fiona poured milk for Darwin and brought it to him.

The two stood across the table from each other.

Darwin's condition had visibly improved.

Fiona felt greatly relieved.

"I'm not going to attend the monthly and quarterly shareholders' meeting of Solomons this time," she suddenly said.

Darwin put down the half-drunk milk. "Why?"

"Isn't it conflicting with Charles and Chicago's school start? Plus, I need to spend time following up on that project from Monsoon Investment," Fiona said slowly, "Anyway, you are pretty familiar with the group's affairs now. You can make the decisions. If it doesn't work out, there's still Henry."

Darwin thought for a moment. He nodded. "I'll do my best."

"Of course! Solomons was built and expanded by you from the ground up," Fiona said, standing on tiptoe to reach over and pat his head.

Darwin loved this gesture from her. It made him feel like she was affirming that he belonged to her.

Just then, Fiona saw Alexander coming out from another room, she withdrew her hand.

Alexander, who usually drank a glass of warm water in the morning, headed straight for the dining room.

Seeing Darwin and Fiona, he greeted them warmly with a good morning.

"Henry should be here soon. I'll go change clothes first," Darwin said to Fiona.

"Okay, be careful," Fiona reminded him.

"Alright." Darwin nodded slightly to Alexander and then went upstairs.

"Thanks to your medication, he seems to have improved a lot over the past two months." Fiona indicated where the warm water was.

Alexander glanced back at Darwin. "How has he been sleeping lately?"

"Pretty well, but he had a nightmare last night," Fiona replied.

"Okay, I'll have someone send over some supplements for sleep later." Alexander nodded. "Stella needs them too."

"How did she sleep last night?" Fiona asked.

"She woke up crying from a dream twice." Alexander lowered his eyes. "She's always been very empathetic, and this time it was Mason who got hurt."

"I understand."

Just then, Fiona's phone suddenly rang.

The caller ID showed it was Hubert.

Fiona had only contacted him once before.

Although they had exchanged pleasantries about meeting up in Bay City sometime, they hadn't been in touch since.

"Hubert? The doctor treating Patricia?" Alexander asked.

"Yes." Fiona nodded, answering the call and murmuring, "So early."

The call connected.

Fiona politely said, "Dr. Hubert, good morning."

"It is quite early. I hope I'm not disturbing you." Hubert's voice was as gentle as before.

"Of course not. Is there something you need, Dr. Hubert?" Fiona asked.

"Yes, I just finished Patricia's check-up. Her mother wants to speak with you. Are you available?"

Fiona's eyes turned a bit cold.

"Tell her that what's done is done. Her foolishness won't delay Patricia's treatment. There's no need to contact me." Her tone noticeably cooled.
