Chapter 776 Just Give Me a Billion
Mr. Solomon Sr. had another account to settle with Fiona—the Klein Mansion had to be taken back!
As he approached, a cold, mocking voice echoed from behind. "You've lived here for so many years, and now you're afraid to even step inside, Mr. Solomon Sr. What are you afraid of?"
Mr. Soloman Sr. turned around to face Fiona's frosty eyes.
"Afraid?" Mr. Soloman Sr. sneered. "Indeed, I am afraid. I've heard about your methods, Fiona. I'm afraid I'll go in and never come out."
"You know my methods, yet you have the audacity to threaten me with my child?" Fiona walked up to Mr. Soloman Sr. with an unfriendly tone.
Mr. Solomon Sr. had always been concerned about his image, but Fiona's disrespect gradually wiped the fake smile from his face, his expression souring. "Alright, I didn't come here to argue," he admitted, glancing past Fiona. Apart from the bodyguards, he didn't see anyone else.
"Don't bother, Darwin isn't here," Fiona said, walking straight to the door of the Klein Mansion.
Mr. Soloman Sr. clenched his fists, retracted his gaze, and followed behind Fiona. Although no one had lived in the Klein Mansion for a long time, Anniston's servants still came regularly to clean. Except for being a little colder than before, the house hadn't changed much.
Fiona walked straight to the sofa, crossed her legs, leaned forward, and fixed Mr. Soloman Sr. with a penetrating gaze, applying considerable pressure. "So, what do you want?" she asked.
"You and your husband annoy me, and I don't want much contact with you. I just want to get back what was originally mine," Mr. Soloman Sr. said without hesitation.
"Mine?" Fiona looked calmly at Mr. Soloman Sr. "When you caused trouble before, Darwin's life was in danger, and I didn't bother to argue with you. Now that he has returned safely, I'll be honest with you," Fiona asserted firmly. "Darwin had his lawyer draw up a will at the beginning of our marriage, and he didn't leave you a penny of his money or property. Now that he's back, why do you still think there's anything here that belongs to you?"
"Of course there is!" Mr. Soloman Sr. raised his voice. "When my father passed away, he left me a share too! Later, I listened to my mother and transferred that share to Darwin to help him take control of the Solomons! Now that Darwin is tearing his face apart with me for a woman, I think it's only right that I get that share back!"
"If Darwin really owes you, I'm more than willing to provide a legal team to help you sue and legally get back what's rightfully yours," Fiona said directly.
When the early disputes of the Solomons occurred, she was not by Darwin's side. By the time she got to him, the situation had already turned in Darwin's favor, with the vast majority of the real power falling into his hands.
Fiona wasn't certain about the details of the share transfer, but Mr. Solomon Sr. was causing a commotion, spreading rumors, and even threatening to disrupt activities at Chicago's school gates. Fiona suspected that Mr. Solomon Sr.'s claims were baseless.
From her understanding of Darwin, he had always been transparent and equitable in financial dealings, regardless of the person involved, even Mrs. Solomon Sr. Furthermore, Darwin's relationship with his father wasn't particularly close, making his intentions even clearer.
"Don't use the law to pressure me!" Mr. Soloman Sr. said with a scowl. "This is what you should give back to me. If you don't return the shares, then cash it out. This money isn't much for you. I'll take the cash and leave, and we'll never have any contact again!" Mr. Solomon Sr. slammed an A4 paper down in front of Fiona.
Fiona took a look at the document. It was a mess. Including the alimony Darwin was expected to pay her for the next thirty years, the sum alone amounted to a staggering $10 million. Additionally, there were provisions for his potential medical expenses, calculated at $600,000, bringing the total to $1.1 million.
Then there were the shares he had given Darwin, valued at a hefty $250 million according to yesterday's market prices, along with various other items. This also included Mr. Solomon Sr.'s prior agreement with Darwin not to divide Anniston's inheritance.
Altogether, Fiona and Darwin were expected to pay Mr. Solomon Sr. a sum totaling $300 million.
"Indeed, Mr. Solomon Sr., you are the son that Mrs. Solomon Sr. has raised in the palm of her hand. The burden is heavy enough," Fiona praised, then turned her gaze to Mr. Solomon Sr. and asked in a serious tone, "But why don't I simply take a fraction of this $300 million and hire a hitman to make you disappear quietly?"
Mr. Soloman Sr. immediately straightened his back. "I am Mr. Soloman Sr. You dare to kill your father-in-law?"
"Father-in-law?" Fiona narrowed her eyes as if she had heard a joke. "Mr. Soloman Sr., why did you and Anniston completely tear each other apart in the end?"
Mr. Solomon Sr.'s expression stiffened slightly. Would Darwin divulge the family's secrets to Fiona as well?
Beads of sweat began to form on his forehead, and after a few seconds, he replied, "I'd prefer not to discuss Anniston. If the amount listed here isn't satisfactory to you, then name your price! If it's acceptable to me, we can swiftly resolve the current situation!"
"But I want to talk," Fiona stated, her gaze fixed on Mr. Solomon Sr. Noticing his inability to conceal his emotions, Fiona swiftly inferred the answer to her doubts from his evasive eyes.
Mr. Solomon Sr. was definitely well-informed about Darwin's background. And the fundamental reason why Anniston completely confronted Mr. Solomon Sr. in the last few years was that Anniston knew that Mr. Solomon Sr. was well aware of Darwin's background and parentage.
Mr. Soloman Sr. looked annoyed. "Fiona, what's the point of bringing up these old accounts?"
"Of course there is," Fiona answered without hesitation. "After going through the old accounts, I can determine whether to continue talking about the money with you, or just spend a fraction of the money to make you disappear."
"You are too arrogant!" Mr. Soloman Sr. slammed the table.
"Is it that I am arrogant, or is it that you are pushing people too far?" Fiona looked up at Mr. Solomon Sr. "Last time you brought people to make trouble, I already warned you. Not only did you not listen, but you also spent a lot of effort to buy a troll army online to spread rumors about me and even dared to threaten me directly with my daughter.
"Mr. Solomon Sr., your mother's trust fund for you gives you $300,000 a month, which is more than many people earn in a lifetime. With this $300,000, you can live a very comfortable life. Why do you have to seek death?"
Mr. Solomon Sr.'s back had already started to sweat. "Enough!" he gritted his teeth in hatred. "I don't want the alimony, I don't want the medical expenses, and the shares... let's just settle for a total of $100 million, okay?"
As if afraid that Fiona would misunderstand, he added, "Just give me a total of $100 million!" "
