Chapter 1446

Fiona could sense the changes in Darwin through these small, seemingly insignificant details.

Darwin used to never care about things like flowers and plants.

Their plane landed in Bay City around noon.

Darwin and Fiona had a quick lunch at their apartment before heading to the flower shop.

When Calista saw them together, she almost fell over in shock. "It's been ages since you were here!"

"I've been abroad for a while," Darwin replied. "I'm here to buy some sunflowers."

"Of course! Come right this way!"

Calista was over the moon. Just a few days ago, when she saw Fiona, she had wondered if Darwin was even still alive.

Thinking about it now, she felt a bit embarrassed.

Darwin originally intended to buy all the sunflowers in Calista's shop and send them to Chicago.

Fiona stopped him.

In the end, Darwin picked out a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers, paid for them, and left with Fiona.

Calista stood there, feeling a sudden wave of emotion. She clasped her hands together and whispered a prayer.

"Thank you, God, for keeping Darwin safe!"

The wind chimes at the flower shop door jingled.

Fiona and Darwin got into the car, heading towards Emerald Pool. After these past few days of Fiona helping Darwin ease back into society, he no longer felt anxious about going home. Instead, he was filled with anticipation.

He looked forward to seeing his children.

He looked forward to a brand-new life.

Emerald Pool.

Chicago was still the busiest person at Emerald Pool.

She got up at dawn, and during the holidays, she loved working out with Charlotte.

Charlotte would practice martial arts with Stuart early in the morning, and Chicago joined them.

Even though she could only last five minutes.

After five minutes, Chicago would collapse on the ground.

Every morning, Jessie and Milo would be there with her.

When Chicago collapsed, Milo would lie down next to her, squinting at Charlotte and Stuart sparring.

Charlotte was improving quickly.

Although Stuart still had the upper hand in terms of strength.

But occasionally, she could land a kick or a punch on him.

After that session was over.

Chicago would get up and slowly go feed the cats, then force Jessie to run twenty laps around the garden to lose weight.

By the time Jessie finished running, it was time for breakfast.

Chicago would take a shower, change clothes, and then have breakfast.

After breakfast, she would feed the koi in the lake.

Seeing the koi grow big and healthy made Chicago feel very satisfied.

The day Fiona left, she was in high spirits and drew a bunch of cute koi on her iPad.

Thalassa thought they looked great and contacted their clothing factory to make a batch of koi T-shirts to give away on Twitter to fans of Charles and Chicago.

But this morning, there was a little mishap while feeding the koi. Jessie knocked over a bag of fish food.

One greedy koi ate so much it flipped over, and they had to rush it to the vet.

Luckily, they got it there in time, and it was saved before lunch.

Chicago breathed a sigh of relief.

She hurried back home, almost missing lunch.

Exhausted from the morning, Chicago went to her room for a nap, planning to sleep for twenty minutes, but ended up sleeping until three in the afternoon!
