Chapter 874
"Where did you go? You look so exhausted," Stella asked with concern.
"I got caught eating ice cream," Mason glanced at Alexander, speaking very cryptically. I was airing out two big boxes of Bibles, just finished packing them up, and didn't even have dinner!"
"That sounds rough," Stella quickly handed the snack to Mason and said, "I bought this for you. Go ahead and eat!"
Mason quickly waved his hand.
It was fine to have an ice cream, but Mason couldn't have specially bought snacks!
"It's okay!" Stella directly stuffed the snack into Mason's hand. "I'm leaving tomorrow. If you don't eat it now, I won't be able to buy it for you later!"
"Leaving tomorrow?" Mason was taken aback and then looked somewhat sad. "Stella and Alexander, have a safe journey."
"Don't be sad. I'll come back again!" Stella comforted him, seeing his expression.
Mason was taken aback, then quickly denied it. "Stella, I'm not sad at all!"
"Alright, I know!" Stella quickly responded.
Mason gave her a sulky look, said goodbye, and left.
"Mason has quite a temper!" Although Stella said so, she was smiling. "So cute! How could his parents bear to send him to church?"
Alexander fell silent for a moment and said, "His parents died in an accident and none of the relatives wanted to adopt him, so he was sent to the church."
Stella's smile immediately froze, then gradually turned sad. "When did this happen?"
Alexander said, "He was just a baby at the time."
Stella looked at Mason's retreating figure.
Seeing Mason, who was chubby from eating well, Stella thought he must have been well taken care of by his parents.
Otherwise, the church cook's food was so hard to swallow and couldn't have fed someone so chubby.
"Don't be sad. Everyone has their own story." Alexander patted Stella's head. "Have a good night. We will leave early tomorrow."
Stella nodded.
On the way back to the residence, Stella typed passionately, sharing Mason's pitiful background with Fiona and Thalassa in their small group chat.
Today was the day for Charles and Chicago to receive their final grades.
Charles was calm. There was no need to guess his grades. He was first in his year.
Chicago was very nervous.
Charlotte was also calm. Even if she wasn't first in her year, she was still in the top ten.
Breakfast was sumptuous.
Chicago, who usually indulged himself the most, seemed absent-minded while eating today.
"Chicago, you'll be fine," Charlotte reassured him.
Chicago just nodded blankly.
After breakfast, two cars drove out of Emerald Pool. This time, they didn't stop at Charles' place first. They didn't even park at Charles' school gate.
As Charles said, they would check on Chicago first, who looked like she was about to stop breathing.
After getting out of the car, Chicago ran into the campus.
When Fiona and Darwin got out of the car, holding hands, Fiona whispered to Darwin, "Darwin, do you think Chicago is so nervous because she wants to get first place to impress you? Or is she hoping that if she gets first place, Mr. Ethan will continue tutoring her during the holidays?"
Darwin remained silent.
"Of course, it's for Dad!" Darwin eventually responded.
Fiona immediately laughed. "That's what I thought too!"
Meanwhile, Ethan came out of the school gate.
Fiona immediately greeted him, "Ethan!"
