Chapter 1072

Fiona stood to the side, laughing at Brenda and Randy's antics.

"Sorry for making a scene in front of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon," Brenda quickly said.

"I understand," Fiona replied.

"That kid, such a temper, didn't even look back!" Randy sighed. "He is still mad at me for pushing him!"

"When he grows up, he'll understand you," Brenda comforted him.

Fiona glanced at Ethan's figure gradually disappearing into the crowd.

'So, doesn't he still want to go out?' Fiona thought to herself.

Her phone buzzed. It was from Alexander.

She was a bit surprised; usually, it was Stella who called.

She answered, "Alexander, what's up?"

There was a moment of silence before Alexander's tired voice came through. "Stella's not doing well. Can I bring her to your place?"

"She was fine when we parted the day before yesterday. What happened?" Fiona asked quickly.

Then, the answer from the other end of the line struck Fiona like a bolt from the blue.

"Mason passed away." Alexander replied in a clam tone.

"Mason?" Fiona asked in disbelief.

"Yes."

Two days ago, Stella, filled with immense joy, was on her way to the church.

She had Alexander stop the car several times to buy delicious treats for Mason.

She was thinking that after this trip, they would go on their belated honeymoon. She just wanted to buy Mason more things to enjoy.

By the time they reached the church, it was almost dusk.

The sunset was particularly beautiful.

Stella had been here twice before, so she quickly ran into the church with the things she had brought.

However, once inside, she noticed something was off.

At first, she thought it was because everyone was still mourning Father Ben's passing.

She composed herself and started looking for Mason.

Usually, at this time, he would be in the dining hall.

As she headed to the dining hall, Stella ran into Aaron.

"Mrs. Beaumont."

"Aaron, have you eaten?" Stella greeted warmly.

Aaron looked at the things Stella was carrying, clearly meant for Mason.

In the past few days, the news that Stella and Alexander had planned to adopt Mason but were refused by him had spread throughout the church.

Aaron's eyes instantly reddened.

"Mrs. Beaumont, you should go back," he said, bowing to Stella.

Alexander was just a few steps behind Stella.

"Go back? I'm here to see Mason. I haven't seen him yet, why should I go back?" she felt puzzled.

Alexander held her hand and asked, "What happened?"

"Mason." Aaron began, his voice choking up. "Mason has passed away."

Upon hearing Aaron's words, Stella's mind went blank for a moment.

"What did he say? Alexander, I don't understand." she turned to look at Alexander.

Tears were already streaming down Stella's face.

At that moment, Liam's voice came from the steps. "Father Alexander!"

His voice was extremely hoarse, as if he had been gravely ill.

As soon as Stella saw him, she ran over. "Liam, where's Mason? Call him over quickly. Look, I bought him lots of treats. And there are a few pairs of shoes in the car. The last time I left, his shoes were already worn out!"
