Chapter 802 Let Her Go
Darwin had heard Fiona mention the name Stella once or twice.
"And then?" Darwin asked.
Wyatt pulled at his hair a few times, saying, "Stella is especially beautiful; her eyes are big and watery. We were deeply in love when we were young, but due to our youth, we parted ways passionately later on."
Darwin remained silent.
Wyatt didn't care, either.
" Despite all the ups and downs, you were able to marry the one you love, have children, and your family is so happily united" Wyatt paused for a moment, his voice choked up. "I want that too."
"Can't you strive for it? Is it that difficult?" Darwin asked.
Wyatt looked at him, then smiled. " You've lost your memory now. You've become pure. If you were your old self, you wouldn't ask me to strive for it; you would only make me analyze the pros and cons."
"You can analyze the pros and cons, too," Darwin interjected.
"From the current situation, the cons actually outweigh the pros... I mean from Stella’s perspective." Wyatt was different from Darwin.
The feelings among the members of the Durham family had always been very good.
Wyatt wouldn’t cut off contact with his family for Stella after getting married.
But if they did keep in touch, given the current bias of the Durham family members towards Stella, Stella would definitely suffer many grievances.
Darwin thought for a moment.
"Have you asked for Stella's opinion?" Wyatt fell silent for a moment and shook his head. "We... we haven't officially reconciled since we separated when we were young. A while ago, when you had an accident, my mother had a fierce argument with Stella."
Wyatt paused for a moment, his expression becoming agitated, saying, "It was my mother's fault, but Stella has a fiery temper. She yelled at my mother loudly, and I scolded her..."
Darwin furrowed his brow.
"And then Stella left, and she hasn't come back yet," Wyatt said.
"Otherwise... you should just let her go." Darwin thought for a moment. He had intended to be more tactful, but it didn't come out that way.
Wyatt was slightly taken aback and looked at Darwin. "Why do I feel like you're quite disdainful of me?"
Darwin nodded, saying, "Yes."
Wyatt wasn't angry and just smiled wryly. "You should take a look at what you've done in the past before you judge me. If it weren't for Fiona's good temper, you wouldn't even know when you'd have a wife by now."
"Even though I've lost my memory, there's one thing I'm sure of. If Fiona has a conflict with someone, no matter who it is, I will firmly stand by her," Darwin said firmly.
Wyatt was slightly stunned.
In Wyatt's impression, Darwin was indeed like that.
Except when Fiona initially wanted to leave Darwin, Darwin intentionally made things difficult for Fiona in the data error incident.
But while he seemed to make things difficult on the surface, privately, Darwin was trying to remedy the situation for Fiona.
It was just that Fiona, being more capable than he thought, resolved the matter on her own.
"But that's my mom..." Wyatt was quite frustrated.
"So, let Stella go," Darwin said very seriously, repeating himself.
Wyatt furrowed his brow, pretending to check the time. "We've been chatting for over three hours by accident. I have some things to deal with at my company, so I'll head back now."
With that, Wyatt stood up.
Darwin nodded slightly; he knew Wyatt was avoiding.
Wyatt walked straight to the door.
When he reached the door, he turned back, saying, "I can't let it go. It's been over a decade. I really can't let it go!"
"It's been over a decade, and you can't let go, but you dare not pick it up. What else do you have to say?" Darwin replied.
Wyatt's pupils trembled violently for a moment.
Then he remained silent, clenched his fists, and turned and left.
Darwin glanced at Wyatt's back.
He took out his phone, thinking of calling Fiona.
But when he thought of what Wyatt had just said about the past, he hesitated and put the phone back.
This repeated several times.
The phone rang. It was Fiona calling.
He quickly answered, "Honey!"
"Did Wyatt leave?" Fiona asked gently, "I heard from the servant that he left angrily. Did you two fight?"
"No." Darwin paused and said, "I asked him to let Stella go, but Wyatt wasn't very willing."
Fiona was drinking water and was startled by this topic. "How did you end up talking about Stella?"
"Wyatt brought it up," Darwin said somewhat disdainfully, "He also said that Stella quarreled with Ms. Durham. He clearly knew it was Ms. Durham's fault, yet he yelled at Stella. So I told him to let Stella go."
"I can't believe this happened! You did the right thing. You should advise Wyatt to let go!" Fiona agreed.
Darwin lowered his head and said, "He said that based on what I did in the past, I have no right to advise him to let go."
"There are fundamental differences between you two!" Fiona said.
"What differences?" Darwin asked.
"Our problem lies with us, but Wyatt and Stella's problem is much more complicated. Wyatt isn't firm enough, and Stella, being an illegitimate daughter, needs a lot of security, which Wyatt can't provide," Fiona explained.
"Okay." Darwin was interested in something other than this matter.
Wyatt was talking, and Darwin listened and offered his own opinions. What he was thinking about now was how terrible he had been in the past.
"By the way, when I took Chicago to school, I also met Eleanor." Fiona changed the subject. "It was surprising. Eleanor didn't choose her dad or mom; she chose to live her own life."
"Then let her live according to her choice." Darwin wasn't surprised by this outcome. Anyone who had seen the mother of the child in the cafeteria yesterday could feel somewhat suffocated, let alone Eleanor herself.
"I've arranged for my people to take care of it," Fiona replied, "I'll be done with things here soon. How about we go on a date later?"
Darwin's eyes immediately lit up, "Great!"
"Yeah, you stay home and wait for me," Fiona said.
"Okay..." Darwin replied.
Fiona hung up. She quickly finished handling the files in her hand.
Then, she left the company promptly.
She had just arrived at Emerald Pool when her phone rang.
Fiona thought it was Darwin.
She was surprised when she saw it was Stella calling.
"I really can't talk about anyone behind their back," Fiona muttered to herself and answered the phone.
"Congratulations, Fiona! You really managed to bring Darwin back. I've even changed your phone contact to Miracle Woman." Stella's cheerful voice came through the phone as usual.
"Did you finally remember to turn on your phone? I called you and messaged you on Facebook after you left the country. I never got a response from you," Fiona said.
"I was wrong, it's all my fault. Come to Zurich next month. I'll treat you to a big meal as an apology!" Stella said.
"Zurich?" Fiona was puzzled.
"I forgot to mention that I'm getting married next month. I invite you and your whole family to attend the wedding." "
