Chapter 1331
Vivienne instinctively pulled back, stepping closer to Wesley.
"You're talking nonsense!" Amias Blacksmith, Emrys's dad, turned red with anger.
"Nonsense? Then where did the stuff from my grandma's room go? Can you explain that?" Vivienne shot back.
"Enough with the noise!" Charles, who rarely spoke up, furrowed his brows.
His voice wasn't loud, but it shut everyone up instantly.
Fiona chimed in, "Vespera just passed away. Can you wait until she's buried before fighting over the inheritance? What are you thinking? Do you want to disturb Vespera's peace?" Christopher stood at the back, flanked by two people like a wall.
"Mrs. Solomon, if you're here to offer condolences, you're welcome. But if you're here to cause trouble..." Wesley's face turned stern.
Several relatives behind him were tugging at him.
This was Darwin's wife, after all.
It wasn't easy to meet Fiona; they couldn't afford to offend her.
With so many family members, what little Vespera left behind wasn't enough to divide.
It was better to establish a good relationship with Fiona!
"You're the ones causing trouble, aren't you?" Fiona's voice turned icy.
Hearing this, Vivienne immediately signaled, "Mrs. Solomon, there are kids here! Please calm down, don't scare them! Wesley is just too sad; he had a very good relationship with his grandmother!"
Fiona couldn't be bothered and said, "Christopher, call someone from the Mitchell Family. From now on, anyone who dares to disrupt Vespera's funeral is going against me!"
Her aura was fully unleashed.
Everyone in the courtyard fell silent.
Vivienne and Wesley exchanged glances and said no more.
"You mentioned something was missing and seemed to have some disputes over the inheritance," Fiona continued, "Once Vespera is properly buried, I'll help you report to the police to find out what's missing, and I'll also pay for a lawyer to see if there's anything worth disputing in the inheritance."
With those words, everyone's faces darkened further.
Vespera's will was made before she became mentally unclear, fearing that the many children in the family would fight over a little money. She even invited the town judge to witness it.
The will was definitely in order.
They just knew that Emrys's family was gentle and wouldn't argue.
Under humiliation, Emrys's family would surely give up the house and gold Vespera left them.
However, the others didn't expect such a sudden shift!
"This is a token of condolence from my husband and me. Please accept our sympathies." Fiona finished speaking and walked over to Emrys's family, handing the gift to Emrys.
The mark from the slap on Emrys's face was red and swollen. He was already sad about losing Vespera, and after being slapped, he felt even more aggrieved.
"It's okay." Fiona gently patted his arm and said, "Christopher, do we have any ointment for swelling and bruises in the car?"
"We have some in the car. I'll get it right away!" Christopher said and ran out, returning shortly with the ointment and applying it to Emrys's face.
Fiona completely ignored the rest of the Blacksmith family.
From their current demeanor, it was evident that they hadn't been kind to Vespera before.
So Fiona no longer needed to pretend to be friendly with them.
She believed Vespera would also want her to stand up and protect Emrys.
