Chapter 1376

The detective tailed Odette to another place she claimed was her home.

In reality, it was just an abandoned house she stumbled upon while dodging debt collectors. It was in the middle of nowhere, totally deserted.

Odette spent two days chopping the detective into pieces, mixing them with pigs that had died from swine fever, and sending them to an incinerator.

She only kept his ring finger bone.

She put the ring on the detective's hand.

But Aiden's ring was too small for him, and it started to swell and rot.

Odette boiled the flesh off with hot water, leaving only the bone, which she carried with her.

Before giving birth, she returned to Bay City.

She was broke and sought help from Marisole's friends.

That's when she found out about Aiden's death.

In her diary, Odette wrote: [Marisole's friend said Aiden found out that Marisole was killed by him, and then chose to commit suicide out of love. He didn't love Marisole at all, how could he do something as tragic as dying for love?]

[Why do my men betray me, deceive me, use me, and then abandon me?]

[This is not fair!]

There were many more incoherent and crazy statements.

In short, Odette felt Marisole didn't deserve Aiden's love, and that someone like Aiden should love her.

Seeing this, Fiona recalled the previous entries where Odette mentioned Aiden in a subtle way, and then saw this passage.

Fiona suddenly understood a bit.

Odette might have developed feelings for Aiden when she first met him, which was why she was so adamant about proving that Aiden didn't love Marisole.

So after Aiden went mad and killed Marisole, Odette wasn't very sad, but rather happy.

After the child was born, Odette's diary recorded her entire process of decline.

She stopped writing dates and only recorded events.

At first, it was all about Rose, occasionally mentioning Brooke.

Later, it was all about Marisole and Aiden.

Odette said Marisole became a ghost and came to kill her every night.

And alcohol was the only thing that could make Odette not see Marisole.

Odette also wrote that Marisole cried every night, complaining about how things weren't going well in hell with Aiden, saying Aiden only treated her well for a while before changing his heart.

In short, it was all incoherent ramblings.

The handwriting was also crooked, clearly written while Odette was drunk.

The last few pages were the most infuriating for Fiona in the entire diary: [So Aiden had a son, and Brooke is indeed crazy. She actually used such a method to keep the bloodline of her dead son!]

[What will happen to a child raised by Brooke?]

[What if he follows Aiden's path? I'm dying, and no one will help him escape. He will be trapped in a cage by Brooke, rotting alive.]

[No!]

[Maybe it's not so bad.]

[I still have my daughter.]

[She will take on my choice.]

[She will save Aiden's child.]

This was the last sentence in the diary.

Wyatt finished reading.

"Damn it!" he exclaimed.

All his thoughts condensed into a curse.

"So, Rose is after Darwin?" he asked.

Fiona thought for a moment and shook her head. "I'm not sure if she has read this diary or if she will take on her mother's choice."

"So?" Wyatt took a deep breath and said, "You want to smoke the snake out of its hole, right?"
