Chapter 1128
"I'll be watching you in prison, waiting for your downfall," Antony smirked.
"Antony, don't use me as an excuse to go after Darwin," Fiona shot back, her voice icy. "Whether he gets what's coming to him or not is for the future to decide. Right now, you should worry about facing your own consequences."
With that, she grabbed Darwin's hand and left the stifling private room.
She didn't know much about Antony, just that he was very professional.
She never imagined the chaos at the Whites' wedding would spiral into such a mess.
They walked back to the car in silence.
Darwin looked down and murmured, "I'm sorry."
Fiona snapped out of her thoughts, glanced at Darwin, and sighed. "This whole mess started because of me."
"No, I asked Xavier carefully. It was me who led the White family to send Sophia to the mental hospital!" Darwin said, frowning.
Fiona thought for a moment.
Then, she looked at Darwin seriously. "Darwin, the past is gone. From now on, no matter what happens, don't do those extreme things anymore, okay? There's always a better way to solve problems."
During the years she stayed by Darwin's side, she had seen others try to kill him, and she had seen him retaliate even more ruthlessly.
To be honest, Darwin's ruthless methods were a big part of how he quickly grew the Solomons in such a harsh environment. But now, he didn't need to use brutal tactics to establish his authority.
"Okay," Darwin agreed immediately.
Fiona held his hand tightly.
She looked back in the direction of the restaurant.
She remembered that when she first saw Antony, he mentioned that he had thought about going to do something to Charles and Chicago but couldn't bring himself to.
Antony was free in Emerald Pool.
If he really wanted to harm Charles and Chicago when they were unprepared, he probably could.
Fiona suddenly felt very scared.
After returning home, she hadn't gone to find Janna yet.
Janna called her to the study.
"Grandma, what's going on?" Fiona asked, seeing Janna's serious expression.
"Francis called me," Janna said curtly. "Do you know about his family's situation?"
"Yes." Fiona nodded, lowering her eyes. "I just seeing Antony."
"They said Darwin drove Sophia crazy, which led to Sophia setting the car on fire and killing Antony's wife and child. Is that true?" Janna asked.
Fiona immediately shook her head. "Back then, Darwin did have her committed to a mental hospital."
She carefully explained the whole story.
Janna's expression remained unchanged as she said, "I knew about Darwin committing her to the mental hospital from the beginning. She insulted you publicly, and she deserved to pay the price. Otherwise, everyone would think you are easy to bully, and that wouldn't do!"
After saying that, she sneered, "Francis called, saying every word that Darwin's actions were wrong, that Darwin pushed Antony to this point! He wants me to mediate and not let Darwin take it out on the Whites!"
"They may not know the whole story," Fiona gently reassured Janna. "Antony has always told them that Darwin refused to release her. It is presumed that the statement about Sophia being driven to madness was also uttered by Antony.."
"Antony seems like such an upright person. How could he do such a thing?" Janna paused and then asked, "What does Darwin plan to do next?"
"Antony falsified the contract, and the police have been notified. Whatever the punishment is, it will be. As for the White family..." Fiona paused.
