Chapter 643 Assassinate Annie

The meeting was intense but surprisingly smooth. Henry had initially expected at least two more meetings to finalize the huge contract. Given the massive investment involved, even a slight compromise could yield tremendous profits.

Yet, against expectations, Annie, with ample room for profit, agreed directly to the contract. When representatives from all three parties signed it, Henry found it unbelievable.

"It's still early. I've waited for Chelsea for so long. How about we have a meal together?" Annie carefully stowed the diamond pen and extended the invitation, leaving with her team afterward.

Darwin glanced at Fiona, seeking her opinion. She smiled lightly and replied, "Miss Annie has traveled far; it's only right to treat her. We'll show you the specialties of Bay City."

"Excellent! Chelsea, pick the restaurant. I'll change into something comfortable and meet you there," Annie instructed before departing.

"Okay." Fiona nodded as Annie and her team left the Solomon Building.

Darwin's gaze lingered on Fiona, who sighed with relief once Annie was gone, feeling some relief that Annie hadn't shown hostility towards her.

"Secretary Woods, you're amazing!" Henry applauded Fiona, prompting others to follow suit.

Darwin's cold demeanor softened into a smile, though he maintained a tap on the table. "It's not Secretary Woods, it's Ms. Chelsea."

"Of course, Ms. Chelsea!" Henry agreed enthusiastically, breaking from his usual corporate demeanor.

"Enough, enough! What's this about? It was your effort; I just assisted at the end. It's all your credit," Fiona said modestly.

"Now that the contract's signed, head to Henry for your bonus and vacation time. Fiona, come to my office; I need to discuss some details with you," Darwin instructed as he stood.

As they entered the president's office, Darwin turned and pulled Fiona close, kissing her passionately against the door.

Darwin used to prefer Fiona's gentle demeanor but now realized her natural charisma surpassed any facade.

"You've had enough," Fiona murmured, her strength waning under his kisses.

She gently pushed away, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Am I amazing?"

Darwin smiled, kissing her neck tenderly. "You're the most amazing; I'd bow down to you willingly."

"But I feel Annie let us off easy today," Fiona pondered. "There was room for negotiation, and we all knew it."

"Perhaps Ross's family feels guilty for the past and wants to make amends," Darwin suggested, his tone growing colder. "Annie mentioned the chance for cooperation before, but Monsoon Investment withdrew right before signing."

Fiona's realization struck her. "You're right."
"Honey, you don't like the Ross family. Do you don't want to cooperate with them?" Darwin noticed her relief just now.

"No." Fiona thought for a moment and answered honestly. "I was sick before, and Monsoon Investment stopped completely."

At that time, the people in the team couldn't handle things on their own.

Darwin froze, before Darwin holding Fiona tightly again. "You're not allowed to get sick in the future!"

Fiona thought Darwin was being childish, but his fear was valid.

"Yeah, I won't get sick anymore." She patted Darwin's back. "Put me down, I want to pick a restaurant."

"You can just pick any place, those people are so against you," Darwin said, although he was happy to see Fiona dominate. However, Darwin felt uncomfortable thinking about those people intentionally targeting her. "They still want to have a good meal?"

Fiona laughed. "Mr. Solomon is childish!"

"They bullied my wife! Of course, I'm being a child."

The two of them were enjoying each other's company, when suddenly, footsteps could be heard from outside, followed by a knocking sound on the door.

At the same time, Henry's voice came. "Mr. Solomon, something has happened!"

Darwin and Fiona hurriedly went to the garage only to find a large pool of blood on the ground.

Several members of the Ross family were still standing there, some in shock, others nervously making phone calls to report to someone.

"Just now, Miss Annie was attacked here." Henry pointed to the bloody spot. "It seems like she was stabbed directly in the abdomen..."

As they were speaking, a man from the Ross family approached with an aggressive demeanor.

"Mr. Solomon, you have humiliated our family before, but we have always been tolerant to be on good terms with you. In today's contract, Miss Annie made a considerable concession for you and your wife! But right after signing the contract, she was attacked in your place. You must give the Ross family an explanation for this!"

"Please rest assured. Once we have investigated the cause of the incident, we will give you an explanation," Fiona said seriously.

"If it weren't for you, this assassination would not have happened today!" The man looked at Fiona with resentment in his eyes.

Darwin's face turned cold instantly.

He was about to speak when Fiona held his hand. "Henry, you should call a car to send them back to the hotel to rest. The security must be strengthened."

"Will do," Henry replied.

The few individuals from the Ross family who came forward to speak were not significant figures.

Henry pacified them for a few moments before sending them away.

Around the same time, Fiona received the surveillance footage from the security team.

In the surveillance footage, a man wearing a black down jacket and a hat with a mask was seen wandered around for a while, tightly wrapping his coat around him.

Soon, Annie and her group appeared in the frame.

From the beginning, the man had a malicious gaze fixed on Annie at the front of the crowd.

Annie was talking to her assistant the entire time, oblivious to the man's presence before her.

When Annie approached, the man pulled out a dagger and pounced on Annie directly.

Chaos immediately erupted.

Shortly after, Annie's bodyguard pinned the man to the ground.

Annie fell to the ground, her white suit stained, and her assistant's arms were covered in blood.
