Chapter 1420

In a daze, Hubert thought he saw Marisole and Aiden from back in the day.

But this time, Darwin and Fiona's fate had already been rewritten; it wouldn't end in tragedy.

Hubert's worries vanished, and he felt an unprecedented sense of relief.

He took a deep breath.

Spotting the person who had come to pick him up, he walked straight over.

At the parking lot.

Darwin finally managed to pull himself out of his complete infatuation with Fiona for a moment, "Where are Charles and Chicago? Aren't they on break yet?"

"They're already on break," Fiona said, closing the trunk and motioning for Darwin to get in the car.

Darwin got in.

Fiona followed and sat down beside him.

Ignoring his lovestruck gaze, she set the GPS for their destination.

Darwin felt a bit disappointed.

After being apart for so long, he desperately wanted to kiss his lover, but Fiona was as calm as ever.

"You don't seem like you're picking up your husband; it's more like you're picking up your boss or a friend." Darwin complained, lowering his eyes in dissatisfaction.

Fiona glanced at him and smiled, "It's you."

Darwin looked at her in confusion.

"Now that you're healed, you're starting to be unreasonable," Fiona said, raising her hand and gently tapping Darwin's forehead with her fingertip.

If Darwin had glanced at the GPS at that moment, he wouldn't have been so unhappy.

But it didn't take long.

Darwin looked at the road and finally noticed something.

"This isn't the way to Emerald Pool."

"Who said we were going to Emerald Pool?"

Darwin was slightly taken aback, "Did we move?"

Fiona glanced at him and couldn't help but laugh, "No."

After driving a bit further, Darwin realized where they were headed.

The car smoothly entered the apartment's underground garage and parked under Building 2.

"Why are we here?" Darwin asked, feeling inexplicably nervous.

"Because I wanted to come here." Fiona explained, pushing open the car door and getting out.

Darwin quickly followed her out.

In the elevator.

Darwin asked again, "Are Charles and Chicago here too?"

Before coming back, Darwin had prepared himself to talk to the kids about the time he almost gave up on them.

But not right this second.

If Charles and Chicago were here, they would definitely see the crib in the study...

"They're not here." Fiona shook her head, then looked at Darwin with dissatisfaction, "Don't you want to be with me? You keep asking about Charles and Chicago."

"Of course I do!" Darwin exclaimed, immediately blurting it out.

The elevator arrived just then.

Fiona took Darwin's hand and led him inside.

As soon as the door closed, Fiona pressed Darwin against it, her soft lips meeting his.

Darwin was stunned for a moment.

Then he hugged Fiona tightly, deepening the long-awaited kiss, deeper and deeper.

His mind could hold nothing else.

Nothing but Fiona, and only Fiona.
