Chapter 71 You Don't Care about her at all!

In the private room of the restaurant, Janna quickly ordered the dishes she and Stuart were into.

Meanwhile, Fiona picked out a couple of mild-flavored dishes.

"These two, no scallions, cilantro, or nuts," Fiona told the waiter, handing back the menu.

Janna looked puzzled. "Mr. Solomon, aren't you gonna order?"

"She has ordered for me," Darwin replied, sounding all proud and mysterious.

Fiona's fingers tensed up a bit.

Every time they ate out, she was the one ordering, always picking stuff he liked and avoiding what he didn't.

Five years had passed, and it had become a habit.

Janna glanced at Fiona.

She caught a flicker of something in Fiona's eyes and seemed to get it.

"Why do you only order what he likes? Don't you have any faves?" Janna asked.

Maybe it was the pregnancy hormones, but Fiona felt a bit sour inside hearing that.

"Of couse. The dishes you ordered look yummy to me," Fiona quickly pulled herself together and smiled.

Janna nodded, "Seems like we really click; our tastes are pretty similar!"

Darwin got a bit wary.

Earlier in the car, he hadn't taken Janna's talk about wanting Fiona seriously.

Everyone knew Janna was super picky about who she hired. Rumor had it she wasn't happy with her family's descendants and was looking for a capable successor from outside.

Loads of rich families tried to send their kids to her.

They all said they wanted their kids to learn the ropes from Janna, but everyone knew the real reason.

Janna had just met Fiona. Even if she liked her, it wasn't enough for Janna to really want to take her away.

But now, a growing unease gnawed at Darwin.

Janna's fondness for Fiona was almost spilling out of her eyes.

This made Darwin very cautious.

Fiona had a great meal.

Janna was knowledgeable and gentle, making their conversation super enjoyable.

After dinner, Fiona offered to pay the bill. Neither Darwin nor Janna argued.

Meanwhile, Stuart kept eating, totally focused.

"Mr. Solomon, Fiona is perfect in every way; she's a well-bred kid," Janna said, sipping some tea. "With your status, you could have any woman you want. Why not let her go? She might be able to make a new career for herself elsewhere."

She didn't bother with small talk, just got straight to the point.

She was almost sure Darwin wasn't just a simple boss to Fiona.

And it seemed Fiona wasn't staying with Darwin willingly.

"Sorry, Ms. Rhoads, but she's about to become the president of Atlas Energy Company." Darwin shot back.

"And then?" Janna looked at Darwin seriously. "You're about to get married. Most people are shallow. No matter how well she does as president, as long as she's with you, there will always be people who look down on her. Under the guise of morality, countless people will call her a mistress, and all her achievements will be attributed to you."

Darwin's face turned icy.

"I'll handle it," he said, his voice cold.

Janna snorted and stood up. "Handle it? Then where did the slap mark on her face come from?"

She had noticed the redness on Fiona's face a while ago but didn't want to embarrass her.

Darwin's expression shifted slightly.

Janna sneered, "You don't care about her at all! Stuart, stop eating, we're leaving."

Stuart obediently put down his utensils and followed Janna out.

Darwin had met his match today.

No one had ever dared to scold him like this.

At the cashier, Fiona paid the bill.

She turned to head back to the private room and bumped into someone.

"Sorry, I didn't see you." She looked up and saw Wyatt.

Both of them were stunned.

Wyatt was the first to react. He reached out, pinched Fiona's chin, and turned her face to the side. "Where did the slap mark come from?"

Fiona snapped back to reality.

She quickly pushed his hand away. "Mr. Durham, about New Port..."

"Mr. Solomon replaced me," Wyatt said, frowning. "Who hit you? Could it be..."

He thought of last night's incident with the man.

"This has nothing to do with you, does it?" Fiona replied.

What was Wyatt thinking, suddenly acting as if they were very close?

"Fiona, what's going on?" Janna came out and saw a man standing aggressively in front of Fiona. She immediately brought Stuart over.

"Ms. Rhoads?" Wyatt looked surprised to see Janna.

"Wyatt?" Janna had some dealings with Wyatt's grandfather.

Wyatt's grandfather had passed away the year before last.

She had attended the funeral.

"You know her?" Wyatt looked shocked.

"Yes, we just met," Janna said sternly, "I heard plenty about your romantic escapades at your grandfather's funeral. Stop bothering Fiona and show some respect!"

As she spoke, she reached out and took Fiona's hand. "Let's go, don't talk to him!"

Wyatt was about to explode.

"Ms. Rhoads, be reasonable. Those were all normal relationships." He had a few short-term relationships and casual flings. That was all.

He never forced anyone!

Wyatt followed behind Janna and Fiona, explaining incessantly.

Fiona found the scene somewhat amusing.

She couldn't help but laugh.

Darwin came out and saw this scene.

Wyatt also saw Darwin.

Since their big argument that day, they hadn't contacted each other privately.

"What are you doing?" Darwin walked over, his expression and tone unfriendly.

"I was asking her who hit her," Wyatt replied.

"What does that have to do with you?" Darwin asked.

Fiona had a headache.

She added, "You guys can argue all you want. Ms. Rhoads, there's a dessert shop not far from here that makes great orange cake. How about I get you one?"

"Sure!" Janna replied.

With that, the two of them, along with a confused Stuart, headed for the door.

Darwin didn't want Fiona and Janna to be alone, so he decided to follow them, ignoring Wyatt.

But Wyatt followed as well. "Darwin, stop being stubborn. What are you planning to do? Are you really going to keep Fiona as your mistress after you get married?"
