Chapter 75 You're Not Mine

Fiona used to never argue with Darwin.

But Darwin had a real nasty streak, always blowing up at her for no reason.

When he got mad, he'd give her the silent treatment for days—sometimes even weeks if he was really ticked off.

Last night, he seemed super pissed.

Fiona figured she'd get a few days of peace and quiet.

So, she went all out, ordering a bunch of ingredients online and whipping up some killer soup for herself.

She even made her famous roast chicken.

Just as she was about to finish, she realized she was out of a key seasoning.

It was freezing outside, and she was way too lazy to go out, so she ordered delivery.

When the doorbell rang, she thought her seasoning had arrived.

She opened the door with a big grin.

And then she froze.

Before she could react, someone scooped her up, and the door slammed shut.

When Darwin kissed her, Fiona thought, 'Why is he here? And, he can unlock the door with his fingerprint, why did he ring the doorbell and make me run for nothing!'

Darwin kissed her fiercely, and his hands were all over the place.

Fiona quickly snapped out of it.

She turned her head away, breaking the kiss.

She frowned and pushed Darwin. "Mr. Solomon, the soup is on the stove!"

Darwin's hot breath was on Fiona's neck.

He seemed to take a couple of deep breaths to calm down.

Then, his kisses trailed down her neck again.

On the way back, Darwin had almost finished reading that notebook.

It wasn't just about the bedroom.

She had meticulously recorded all his likes and dislikes, his moods, his daily life.

Then she would cater to all his preferences and avoid everything he hated.

[His behavior is a bit like a dog, always wanting to leave marks on me. It's fine if the clothes can cover it, but it's really troublesome on the neck. (Practice using concealer more.)]

It also listed brands of concealers with good coverage on the market, along with their pros and cons.

Darwin found it both infuriating and amusing.

Fiona kept such detailed notes, probably to pass them on to her successor.

She had been planning to hand him over to someone else from the start.

Thinking of this, Darwin bit her earlobe hard.

"Ouch!" Fiona said, both coquettish and fierce, pushing Darwin hard.

"Didn't you say the more delicate and pitiful you are, the more effective it is with me? Why so fierce?" Darwin pressed her onto the sofa, staring at her with a deep gaze.

Fiona was silent. 'Reading my notebook, how shameless!'

"Fiona, you're really generous and carefree about giving me to someone else!" Darwin, although he stood by Fiona's side in front of Bella.

However, the fact that Fiona never wanted him still made him both heartbroken and angry.

"You were not mine to begin with, so there's no giving away." Fiona turned her head away, frowning tightly, then seemed to think of something.

She looked at Darwin. "I gave the notebook to Bella, did you go to her place last night?"

Darwin's face turned cold. "Is that what you think of me?"

"Isn't that why you came to us?" Fiona asked.

She still remembered when she agreed to be Darwin's stand-in, he didn't even give her time to prepare.

That very night, he took her to a hotel.

Back then, Darwin was inexperienced.

Fiona even thought it might've been his first time too.

Plus, all his anger towards Lilian got dumped on her.

That night was so rough, she almost wanted to die from the pain and humiliation.

Darwin was left speechless by her question.

Just when Fiona thought he wouldn't say anything, Darwin finally spoke, "No."

His tone had a hint of helplessness and maybe even some hurt?

"What?" Fiona asked.

Darwin looked at her, clearly annoyed. "I only have you, no other women."

Fiona was speechless. "Do I look like someone dumb enough to believe that?"

Darwin frowned.

Then he let go of her.

Fiona thought, 'Great, he's gonna storm off again.'

But this time, she didn't get her wish.

Darwin was definitely pissed.

But instead of leaving, he headed straight to the bedroom.

After a bit, she heard the shower running in the suite's bathroom.

Every time Darwin came over, the first thing he did was take a shower, then have sex.

Only in the past couple of years did he start to eat, read, and watch movies here.

Thinking about those little routines, Fiona felt a bit dazed.

It was also in the past two years that her feelings for Darwin had spiraled out of control, and she couldn't keep them in check.

She might still be clinging to the illusion of their daily routines, if not for the pain of her grandma's death six months ago and his callous disregard, spending time with Lilian in Europe.

The doorbell snapped Fiona back to reality.

Grabbing the seasoning, she lost her appetite for a nice dinner.

When Darwin came out of the shower, the soup was just done.

Fiona glanced at him.

He was wearing beige loungewear, with his shirt buttons done up all messy, showing off a lot of his chest. His hair was wet and messy from being roughly dried.

Fiona looked away and swallowed.

She thought, 'Seriously, his handsome face, goddamn body, and being so hot in bed make him a total heartbreaker. On top of that, he's got top-notch work skills.'

She was drawn to those who were successful and capable, no wonder she was so hooked on him.

"Why'd you put tomatoes in it?" Darwin glanced at the soup, clearly not happy.

"There's also chili." Fiona pointed at the chicken. "If you don't like it, order takeout yourself."

Darwin was silent.

In the past, he would've blown up.

But Darwin thought of what Fiona had noted in the notebook: [Picky eater! Picky eater! Extremely picky eater! Even kindergarten kids do better than him!]

He snorted coldly.

Seeing that Fiona didn't even get him a bowl, he went to the kitchen to get one himself.

Fiona watched him serve himself.

"Do you want to rest a few more days?" Darwin sat down, staring at the tender meat in the bowl, looking troubled.

Fiona ignored him.

She had made up her mind.

If he dared to waste it, she would definitely throw a fit and curse!

And while she was at it, she would ruin her image in Darwin's eyes, maybe he would see clearly sooner, and she wouldn't have to think about faking her death.

"What's up?" Fiona asked.

"Didn't I mention last time, you should go be the CEO of the energy company." Darwin finally picked up a piece of meat and put it in his mouth. After a couple of bites, his eyes lit up.
