Chapter 789 Skipping Class and Getting Caught
Janna's life had never encountered love.
However, Janna greatly hoped that her granddaughter could fulfill her wishes to spend a lifetime with true love.
Although she wasn't entirely satisfied with her true love.
After all, Darwin had caused a lot of trouble for her precious granddaughter in the past.
But now, as Janna watched how they got along with each other, her heart was filled with joy and happiness.
Janna increasingly felt that those hindering them, jumping clowns, needed to be dealt with quickly to prevent them from dirtying her precious granddaughter's eyes again.
"Grandma loves you so much." Darwin glanced at Janna's happy figure, then looked at Fiona and said gently.
Fiona also glanced at Janna, then nodded. "Yes, she loves me very much!"
Janna loved Fiona so much that even someone as vengeful as her love healed her.
After finishing breakfast, Fiona went back to change into her professional attire, preparing to go out.
Darwin was still in a state of separation anxiety.
He escorted Fiona to the garage.
Before getting into the car, Fiona kissed him. "I'm off."
Darwin kissed her back. "I'll be waiting for you at Chicago's school."
Fiona smiled and touched his cheek. "Okay, stay put and wait for me to pick you up."
Darwin also smiled, nodded, and let Fiona get into the car.
After getting in the car, Fiona took the materials she needed for the day and started looking through them.
Christopher sat in the passenger seat, glancing at the rearview mirror.
He thought, 'Is this what they call a split personality?'
One second early, Ms. Solomon was gentle; the next second, she had an aura that could even kill eight people with a glance.
"What are you looking at?" Fiona's voice came from the back seat.
Christopher immediately straightened up. "I just wanted to ask you if, given that Charlotte's class has a holiday study trip, I should let her go?"
Fiona looked up from the materials. "Study trip? Where to go?"
"To Europe."
"In that case, it's better not to go." Fiona withdrew her gaze. "Simon's family has not given up on finding Charlotte yet. That area is not our territory. Once Charlotte is targeted there, not only might she not come back, but also her classmates might be endangered. Later, I will talk to Charlotte. If she's willing, during the holidays, I'll take her to North Alabama."
"Okay, follow your arrangement." Christopher became more serious.
For such a long time, there had been no movement from the European royal family.
He had even inquired, but it seemed that the royal family had concluded the investigation into Simon's assassination.
It was more of a symbolic gesture; they had issued a warrant for the operator of the dark web platform that provided the release of information.
But what about that operator?
He must have had dozens of warrants on him by then.
There were probably a dozen warrants from royal families around the world.
Christopher had thought that Simon's matter had probably been settled with no conclusion.
However, when Fiona spoke, Christopher's vigilance reignited.
He hadn't been on the risk edge for a while, and his overall alertness had decreased significantly.
Before, it wasn't an exaggeration to say that.
When passing by a puddle, he would even pull Charlotte away a bit, fearing that the puddle was just an illusion that there was actually an abyss underneath.
In just half a year, Christopher had really adapted to the fact that Charlotte was just an ordinary elementary school student.
Before eight o'clock, Fiona arrived at the Solomon Building.
She had just entered her office when Laura hurried in.
"What's wrong?" Fiona sat down and asked puzzledly.
"Last night, two energy ships from Solomon Energy were detained at the port in Southeast Asia."
Fiona wasn't surprised at all. "Is the energy company in urgent need?"
"Not really urgent; I've already informed several other ships to change course and take alternative routes; however, after the detour, they won't arrive within a month. Nevertheless, the energy company can't wait for a month. With the current inventory, it will last at most 20 days."
Fiona figured out the time.
"First, try to purchase backup from domestic or nearby countries, even if it's a bit more expensive. Atticus will reimburse later." Fiona said afterward.
Seeing Fiona so calm, Laura immediately breathed a sigh of relief. The boss had already noticed this matter.
"Understood, I'll arrange it now."
After Laura left, Fiona dealt with some of the piled-up documents from the past few days before the meeting.
She arrived at the meeting room promptly at 9:30.
Around the same time, Darwin, dressed casually, tall but obedient, followed behind Janna to watch Chicago's rehearsal.
It was a sunny day.
Chicago's face was red from the sun, which hurt Janna's heart.
When she saw her father and great-grandmother, she immediately ran over joyfully.
"Why are you rehearsing outdoors under such a big sun? Look at how red your face is." Janna took the umbrella from Stuart and held it over Chicago's head.
Chicago was cheerful. "Janna, sunbathing helps me grow taller. Don't you think I've been a bit taller than my brother recently?"
After speaking, Chicago quickly moved from Janna's side to Darwin's.
"Dad, are you hot? There's ice water over there; you can drink half a bottle." Then she looked at Janna. "Janna, your stomach isn't good; you can't drink ice water."
"Look at your worries," Janna said, taking out a baby wipe and wiping the sweat off Chicago's face.
Chicago had already got in the habit of doing things on her own.
She took the wipe and wiped her face haphazardly.
Janna didn't know was felt distressed or gratified.
"Alright, Dad and Janna, you guys go inside the teaching building and wait for me. It's not sunny there! I'll be fine soon!" After saying that, Chicago swiftly left.
Janna quickly went to find a cool place.
Darwin wasn't fearless of the sun and stood guard in front of the stage with Stuart.
As they stood there, Darwin looked around.
Coincidentally, the headmaster caught Ethan, who was about to skip class.
Coming from the back door, Ethan and Darwin locked eyes from a distance.
The headmaster grabbed Ethan, approaching.
"Mr. Solomon, do you came to watch Chicago's rehearsal?" The headmaster said cheerfully.
Darwin nodded, his gaze falling on Ethan.
Ethan glanced at Darwin. "Mr. Solomon."
Darwin nodded slightly.
He had seen this kid in a family photo at home.
Ethan glanced at Stuart. "Uncle Stuart."
"Why was Ethan caught skipping class? Haha." Stuart stuck to his principle of not being good at small talk.
Ethan was speechless. He thought, 'Do I look like I want to laugh?'
"This kid, I caught him skipping class!" The headmaster snorted. "I noticed something was wrong with you earlier, so I've been lurking in the security room for half a day to catch you!"
Ethan frowned.
Afternoon classes were all electives; he wasn't interested.
He just wanted to go home and sleep.
"Ethan is such a good student; it's no big deal to skip class occasionally, right?" Stuart thought for a moment. He hadn't been to school, so he didn't need help understanding the school rules.
But Ethan was the top student in his grade!
