Chapter 1241

Fiona remained silent.

Burl was squatting by the exit. When he saw Fiona coming out, he jumped up and called out, a bit nervously, "Fiona."

Fiona glanced at him and let out a soft sigh. "I'm not mad at you."

Burl's eyes were red as he turned to Hubert. "Mr. Graham, you can fix Darwin, right? That shot you gave him before really helped!"

"I'll do my best," Hubert replied earnestly.

Burl pressed his lips together and went quiet again.

"I need to go to Mr. Graham's office to handle some paperwork. You can wander around," Fiona said.

She didn't know what was weighing on Burl, but she could tell he was under a lot of stress.

"Okay." Burl nodded slightly and walked away, occasionally glancing back.

Fiona did head to Hubert's office, but it wasn't for paperwork; that had been done ages ago.

In Hubert's office, there was surveillance footage of Darwin's ward.

When Fiona walked in, Rose was staring at the screen with a grim look.

Hubert's expression shifted. "Who let you in?"

Rose glanced at Hubert, then at Fiona. "After she left, Darwin got really agitated."

"Get out." Hubert turned off the screen and, for once, gave Rose a cold look.

Rose's face darkened, but she didn't say anything and left the office.

Hubert turned to Fiona. "I'm sorry. From now on, I'll change all permissions related to Mr. Solomon so only I can view them in the entire lab."

"You remember what you promised me, right? Absolutely no involvement from Ms. Everhart in Darwin's treatment. Not in any part of it." Fiona said, straight to the point.

Hubert frowned. "I'll be more careful in the future."

Fiona looked away and turned the screen back on.

As she watched, she said coolly, "You don't need to be careful. I'll handle Ms. Everhart's whereabouts."

Rose was Marisole's sister's daughter.

If Marisole hadn't died at Aiden's hands, her life wouldn't have been so miserable.

Even though Rose had been living comfortably abroad with Janna's help after Anniston's death, Fiona knew how unpredictable people could be.

Whether Rose had any hostility or other intentions towards Darwin, Fiona just wanted peace of mind.

So Rose couldn't stay in the lab before Darwin was discharged, and she wouldn't let Rose stay in Cyberia either.

Hubert opened his mouth to speak but then just nodded.

Fiona said nothing more. Her eyes were fixed on the screen.

The moment her figure completely disappeared from Darwin's sight, the world started to shake.

Everything in the room began to distort.

Foul-smelling water seeped from the floor, and another Darwin appeared before him, saying, "You're really useless. Look at this place. It's worse than a prison. You know Fiona's going to abandon you, so why did you agree to stay?"

"Whether I agree or not, I have to." Aiden's voice came from an old sofa in the corner.

Darwin looked over.

Aiden said, "Mrs. Solomon is his wife. She has the right to sign those papers."

Darwin's head throbbed as he looked at the flickering figure of Aiden, asking, "What papers?"

"The papers my mother signed when she sent me here, probably the same ones," Aiden said, lowering his head and tossing a ball in his hand, catching it again.
