Chapter 1104

Darwin nodded.

Before coming downstairs, he checked himself in the mirror. He didn't feel different, but Alexander noticed he looked unwell right away.

After a game ended, everyone came back inside. Janna had them clean up the gaming console and head to the dining room.

As Darwin walked over, his phone buzzed twice. It was a message from Rex.

Rex: [Uncle Darwin, how's your injury? My grandma just got back, and I'm home too.]

Darwin turned off his phone without replying.

With Preston and Burl around, dinner was lively. Even Stella, who hadn't been eating much for a few days, ate more that night.

During dinner, Fiona chatted with everyone but kept an eye on Darwin. She felt something was off with him today.

After dinner, she got a message from Hubert.

Hubert: [Mrs. Solomon, do you have time to treat me to lunch tomorrow?]

Fiona checked out her schedule. She really wanted to meet this psychology expert, so she agreed.

Fiona: [Sure, you're the guest. I'll pick the restaurant. Any dietary restrictions?]

Hubert quickly replied.

Hubert: [I'm a vegetarian. As long as there are vegetarian dishes, it's okay.]

Fiona chose a well-known vegetarian restaurant in Bay City, made a reservation, and sent the details to Hubert.

"Who was that?" Darwin asked, bringing Fiona a glass of juice.

Fiona put down her phone, made space for Darwin to sit next to her, and took the juice. "The psychology expert who helped treat Patricia. I promised to treat him to a meal in Bay City as a gratitude."

"When?" Darwin asked.

"Tomorrow," Fiona replied.

Darwin said, "I have a meeting tomorrow. Are you going by yourself?"

"You don't like meeting these kinds of people, right?" Fiona stroked Darwin's head. "I won't force you. This is my debt to repay, so I won't take you along."

"It's not that I don't want to meet him," Darwin lowered his eyes. "You go first and see if he's really that good."

Darwin's attitude towards psychologists had softened. Fiona was pleasantly surprised. "Okay."

"Why so happy?" Darwin asked with a smile, held Fiona's hand loosely. "Honey, what if I really have a mental illness?"

"First of all, you might just have some PTSD. Secondly, if you're sick, we'll get you treated. Don't worry," Fiona answered without hesitation.

Darwin looked up at her and then smiled. "Why so serious? Nothing like that will happen. I'm fine."

It was just some PTSD. If he listened to the psychologist and took his medication properly, he would get better.

At that moment, Burl called Fiona over.

Fiona responded, squeezed Darwin's hand, and then got up and walked over.

Darwin was relieved. He took out his phone and replied to Rex's message.

Darwin: [I'm fine, don't worry.]
