Fiona stared at Abigail coldly.
"Go and tell her that Chicago is perfectly fine," Fiona suddenly spoke.
Abigail looked as if she were waiting for news. Although she had seen Chicago wake up when she was arrested, the child was fragile. There was still a possibility of death after drowning. Even if not dead, complications from lack of oxygen were possible. She was waiting now, waiting for the interrogator to bring her such good news.
When Fiona gave the order to pass the message, the interrogator briefly stepped out.
Abigail's eyes almost instantly lit up with hope, her face full of expectation.
Milton, the interrogator, had just sat down when Abigail couldn't wait to speak, "Is she dead?"
"Who is dead?" Milton asked sternly.
"Chicago, whom I took down to the river!" Abigail quickly said.
"No, Chicago is very fortunate. She was taken to the hospital for examination; apart from being a bit scared, she is perfectly fine," Milton replied with a cold smile, "Don't worry about Chicago; let's talk about what you did."
"Impossible!" Abigail suddenly struggled.
Abigail had a large wound on her waist from being bitten by Jessie, and the bleeding had just stopped! Not to mention the injuries on her head, arms, and legs from hitting the rocks!
"I don't understand. I looked into your social connections. Chicago has nothing to do with you, nor do the deceased Arnold Sanders, Herman, and Alfonso. Why did you target these people?" Milton, seeing that Abigail had started talking, tried to coax her into revealing more.
"Nothing to do with me?" Abigail was furious. "Do you know that I have a marriage contract with Kenny, the young master of the Walker family?"
"Nonsense!" Scarlet shouted angrily.
Abigail continued, "Just because Fiona and Thalassa are good friends, they used the family's immense power to steal my man! Can't I kill Chicago to get back at her mother?"
Fiona's face grew even colder.
"So that butler's name was Arnold?" Abigail went on, her face full of mocking smiles. "My elder sister married into the Walker family and is the mistress there, but Arnold was so disrespectful. When I went to the Walker family, he arranged for me to stay in a shabby place and always rolled his eyes at me! Recently, I wanted to kill Thalassa and Nora, but Fiona provided too much security, and I couldn't get close at all. So I thought, since she wants to protect Nora, Thalassa's child, I'll kill Chicago instead!"
As Abigail spoke, she laughed more and more gleefully.
Anna and Scarlet instinctively looked at Fiona.
Fiona crossed her arms, her face cold and silent.
However, Burl was extremely angry. "I'll kill her!"
"Stay calm!" the police hurriedly advised.
Abigail couldn't stop talking, "Luckily, Thalassa had Nora, and the Walker family had many guests, giving me a chance to sneak in. But my luck wasn't great. Just as I was about to find an opportunity, Arnold discovered me."
"So you killed him, right?" Milton asked sternly.
"I'm just a weak girl. You have to believe me. If I weren't driven to the brink, how could I casually kill someone?" Abigail struck a coquettish pose, looking at Milton and smiling. "It was Arnold's misconduct. He wanted to expose my presence in the Walker family and used it as a reason to sleep with me!"
"Impossible!" Scarlet immediately retorted, "Arnold was not that kind of person!"
Abigail said, "He's old enough to be my father. How could I let him tarnish my purity? I had no choice but to protect myself and strike first. Isn't that self-defense?"
