Chapter 1433

Fiona decided to ignore the chaos on the internet for now.

After watching the movie, she planned out the next two days.

Early the next morning, Fiona and Darwin set off for the cemetery where Marisole and Aiden were buried together.

The place wasn't too far from Bay City.

It took about a three-hour drive to get there.

Before Darwin knew about his true heritage, he used to come here every year with Brooke. When he was younger, he didn't know who they were visiting.

Anniston, on the other hand, was always upset whenever she found out Brooke was taking him to the cemetery.

She even taught Darwin to say, "Next year, if Grandma wants to take you again, pretend you're not feeling well and don't go, okay? That person had bad luck, don't let it rub off on you!"

Darwin agreed at the time.

But he remembered that every time they visited the grave, Grandma Solomon would be very sad and cry uncontrollably.

As a child, Darwin was deeply loved by Grandma Solomon, and he loved her very much in return.

So even though he agreed with Anniston one year, the next year he still obediently accompanied Grandma Solomon to the cemetery.

Until the year he found the diary.

During an argument between Anniston and Grandma Solomon, he finally learned that the person they visited every year was his uncle Aiden.

After reading the diary, Darwin's feelings changed when he went with Grandma Solomon to visit the grave. He instinctively felt that Aiden wouldn't want his grandmother to visit him.

A few years later, Darwin learned about his true heritage.

After that, he never came back here.

Brooke, however, continued to visit every year until she fell ill.

It was midsummer.

The sun was bright, and everything was full of life.

Fiona and Darwin bought flowers and walked through rows of tombstones to a secluded area.

The cemetery was filled with lush plants and trees.

In the center was a single grave.

Unlike the other graves, this one had a tombstone with no inscription.

"Grandma said she didn't want them to be disturbed, so she didn't put any names on the tombstone," Darwin explained softly to Fiona.

Fiona looked at him and nodded.

Actually, the fact that Aiden killed his fiancée wasn't entirely unknown back then.

It was just that information didn't spread as widely in those days.

Brooke probably didn't put names on the tombstone to avoid any trouble from people who might find out.

They approached the grave.

Fiona placed a carefully chosen bouquet in front of it.

Darwin stood quietly beside her, staring at the blank tombstone.

"I'm sorry it took so long to come visit," Fiona said gently. "I've found the person responsible for your tragedy. I hope this brings you some peace."

Darwin glanced at Fiona.

She looked back at him.

He smiled softly and squeezed her hand.

They didn't stay long at the grave.

On the way there, Darwin thought he would have a lot to say to Aiden.

But once he arrived, his mind went blank.

As they were leaving, Darwin silently said, "I'm healthy now, and I'll live well with my loved one. Don't worry."

The cemetery was very quiet.

Only the sound of birds chirping could be heard.

"Did we forget to mention that Grandma passed away?" Fiona suddenly remembered as they walked.

Darwin wrapped his arm around her waist and continued walking. "He might not want to hear that. Besides, they might have already met in the afterlife."

"True."

Fiona nodded.
