Chapter 1178
The assistant showed Fiona the new fish tank.
The tank was massive and packed with colorful fish.
"Dr. Hubert loves fish," the assistant mentioned to Fiona.
Fiona watched the fish swim around. "My daughter loves them too, but she accidentally killed two, so now she's scared to keep them in a glass tank."
"I've been to your daughter's art exhibit. Chicago is a very empathetic girl," the assistant said.
Fiona was surprised. "You've seen her exhibit?"
"Yeah, but I missed the solo one in Bay City. I saw her work in Valcia with other artists," the assistant replied. "Chicago's brushstrokes are so compassionate and gentle. You've taught her well!"
Talking about Chicago made Fiona feel more at ease.
But then she thought of Patricia.
"Is Patricia schizophrenic?" Fiona asked.
"Don't you know?" the assistant responded.
"I'm not sure. I contacted you, but I don't really understand the situation," Fiona replied. "Will Dr. Hubert let her family take her away?"
"Dr. Hubert can't stop a patient's family from taking them," the assistant answered.
Fiona nodded and checked the time.
Only ten minutes had passed, but it felt like hours.
She wasn't interested in the fish anymore.
She went back to the waiting area outside the consultation room and sat down.
About an hour and a half later, the door finally opened.
Hubert and Darwin came out.
Fiona checked on Darwin; he seemed fine.
"Mrs. Solomon, don't worry, Mr. Solomon is fine," Hubert joked.
Fiona smiled awkwardly. "Thanks for your hard work."
"I need some time to assess the condition. Once I have the results, I'll contact you both," Hubert said gently. "Mr. Solomon seems to be in good shape overall, so don't worry too much."
"Okay." Fiona nodded.
She held Darwin's hand tightly. "We won't bother you today, Dr. Hubert. I'll wait for your news."
Hubert said, "Alright, I have other matters today too, otherwise, I'd invite you for lunch."
After a few pleasantries, Fiona left with Darwin.
The assistant stood beside Hubert, watching them leave.
"How is it?" the assistant asked in a low voice. "Is it the same condition?"
"Not sure yet." Hubert adjusted his silver-rimmed glasses and looked at the file. "He said there's another version of himself, a part of his personality he doesn't want."
"Isn't that..." the assistant started.
Hubert looked at her. "He knows the other version of himself doesn't really exist."
