Chapter 1366

"Is that so? Well, that's good," Rose nodded.

"A family is made up of two people; there's no reason for just one of them to make sacrifices," Fiona chimed in.

She had changed into a beige casual outfit.

Behind her, Chicago and Charlotte were huddled together, whispering about something.

"What took you so long? Melissa's already been lulled to sleep by Kenny!" Ashton complained, pointing to the food Kenny had brought back. "Kenny bought a ton of food. Chicago, Charlotte, pick whatever you like!"

Chicago was delighted.

"Godfather Kenny, did you go out this afternoon just to buy snacks for Godmother Ashton?" She pulled Charlotte over and asked Kenny after a quick glance.

"Yep," Kenny nodded.

"Growing up is awesome! When I grow up, I want to find a husband like Godfather Kenny who will buy me snacks!" Chicago declared boldly.

"Chicago is so obsessed with snacks. Will she be easily tricked by some snacks in the future?" Ashton slapped her thigh.

"Listen to her nonsense. I might believe it if you said she was tricked by a handsome face, right, Charles?" Fiona pulled over Charles, who was quietly playing a game with his headphones on.

Charles couldn't hear what was going on outside.

He was completely unaware of what was happening.

He looked confused as Fiona hugged and squeezed him, looking utterly adorable.

"Give him a break," Ashton said sincerely.

Fiona laughed and let go of Charles.

Charles didn't say anything, didn't express any dissatisfaction, and sat back down to continue playing his game.

Rose watched and asked, "Isn't it bad for his eyes to play games all the time at such a young age?"

Ashton and Fiona looked at her.

Rose quickly explained, "When I was little, my mom only let me watch TV for ten minutes."

Fiona replied, "It's fine. He knows his limits."

Rose nodded.

But she thought to herself, 'How could such a young child know his limits? Isn't Fiona spoiling him?'

Rose felt increasingly uneasy.

Everything here seemed to diverge from the real world.

It made Rose very anxious.

Before long, the adults started chatting.

Charles focused on the game screen, seeming absorbed in his gameplay, but his mind was swirling with Wyatt's ideas, pondering what kind of algorithm could best bring them to fruition.

Just then, someone suddenly poked him in the forehead. Charles looked up in surprise; no one in the house would disturb him at this time. Standing in front of him was Charlotte, tilting her head. Charles removed his headphones.

"I've been calling you for ages," Charlotte said.

"What's up?" Charles asked.

Charlotte said, "Open your mouth."

Charles obediently opened his mouth, and Charlotte popped a piece of hazelnut chocolate into it.

Then she walked away nonchalantly.

Charles was momentarily confused, but the chocolate quickly melted in his mouth, the sweetness spreading across his taste buds.

He put his headphones back on.

He looked back at the game screen and ended up getting killed by the opposing player.

He didn't get angry.

He calmly started a new game, beginning from the first level.
