Chapter 315 We'll Die Together

Darwin looked at Fiona hysterically, his eyes brimming with anger, hurt, and an indescribable sense of grievance.

"You got what you deserved," she said, enunciating each word.

"You say you're sorry, and I'm just supposed to forgive you? How many chances did I give you, Darwin? But you didn't care to seize them. You thought you had me figured out, that you could just cage me up for life," Fiona was relentless. "You never saw me as a person. I was just a pet bird to you!"

Darwin's hands began to shake uncontrollably.

They locked eyes, each refusing to back down.

Finally, Darwin let out a laugh. "So that's how it is, huh? You only behave when you're in a cage?"

Fiona furrowed her brows immediately. "You think you can cage me again?"

"Why not?" Darwin tilted his head slightly, his expression twisted. "Fiona, this is Armie Country. This time, you really hurt me. And as you know, I'm not the kind to show mercy to those who injure me. If it comes to it, we'll just die together."

"Slap!"

Fiona's hand flew up and struck Darwin across the face.

With his cheek to the side, Darwin's expression tightened, yet he was still smiling.
He straightened his clothes, resolve in his eyes. "The DNA results will be in first thing tomorrow morning. I'll be here with my legal team to take my children back home."

"Darwin!"

Fiona called out his name sharply.
"Don't you dare touch my kids. I swear, this'll be war!"

"It doesn't matter." Darwin's gaze was void of worry as he looked at Fiona. "You've lied to me for years, Fiona. It's about time you faced the consequences."

With that, Darwin turned to leave. But something made him stop and look back at the furious Fiona. "Oh, by the way, you never did tell me who helped you keep Charles and Chicago safe."

Fiona turned her back, ignoring him.

Deep down, Darwin already knew.

"Wyatt, wasn't it?" Darwin prodded.

Silent still, Fiona gave no response.

Undeterred, Darwin continued, "He's done me a huge favor. I really should thank him properly."

Fiona picked up on the ominous tone in his voice. "Darwin, what are you planning? Don't go crazy! Without Wyatt, Charles and Chicago wouldn’t even exist. If you have any humanity left, leave Wyatt out of this!"

Darwin locked his eyes deeply on her and said, "Fiona, anyone who’s hidden the truth from me, anyone who’s put me through hell... will pay. Wyatt's just the beginning. Thalassa, Janna, ah, and your dear brother Dagmar, and of course... you."

He articulated every word teasingly. "I'll ensure each and every one of you knows the taste of despair."

Fiona moved to slap him across the face in rage, but Darwin caught her wrist with such force, she almost yelped in pain.

"Fiona, have a heart. Remember I might still have that bruise on my brain? Hitting me over and over, do you want me dead?" He scoffed. "How can I die before seeing you all crumble?"

After his chilling words, Darwin suddenly pinned Fiona against the door and kissed her fiercely, biting through her lip in sheer spite rather than passion. Feeling the taste of blood, he abruptly ended the kiss.
"Lying to me, Fiona, is the last thing you should've ever done."

Releasing her, Darwin walked away without looking back.

Wendy knew Fiona had returned and came bounding over from the lounge area, only to witness the intense confrontation.

"Ch... Chelsea…" Wendy took a moment to process before rushing to Fiona's side as Darwin's figure receded into the distance.
Blood still glistened on Fiona's lips.

Wendy was in a complete panic.

"When did he show up? Why didn't anyone tell me?" Fiona demanded, gazing at Wendy with an intensity that made each word land like a bullet.

"It was... it was right after you guys went out to eat, he just got out of the car..." Wendy, who had never seen Fiona like this, shivered with fear.

"Where's Stuart?" Fiona asked.

Stuart knew all about her and Darwin's business.

By now, Wendy was certain something had happened to Stuart. "He... he spoke with Mr. Darwin and then... then he disappeared, Mr. Darwin said he had to take care of something!"

A chill ran down Fiona's spine.

"Get someone to search for him, now!"

Meanwhile.

The elevator carrying Darwin descended to the basement level.

Outside the elevator, Xavier and his crew waited in anticipation.

Darwin stepped out, his leg gave out, and right in front of Xavier and the others, he coughed up a mouthful of blood.

"Mr. Solomon!" The men were stunned before they sprang into action, rushing forward in alarm.

Darwin clutched his chest, raising his hand to signal that he was alright.

"Surround the hospital," Darwin rasped, his voice hoarse with the effort.

Order given.

He mustered his strength and continued outside.

Stuart was bound and thrown onto the back seat of Xavier's car.

Darwin glanced at him as he left.

Stuart started thrashing wildly the moment he saw Darwin, his muffled voice desperately trying to yell through the gag.

Likely threats and curses, Darwin thought.

"Technically, I should have you thrown into international waters to feed the sharks right now," Darwin said, towering over him with a tone of quiet authority.

Stuart's pupils quivered violently.

He was certainly not afraid of dying, but his young lady sister wasn't grown yet, and the old lady still needed him.

He couldn't be shark bait!

"You should be grateful my daughter is fond of you; if you died, she'd be heartbroken," Darwin spoke slowly.

Stuart exhaled in relief.

"Dump him out."

Darwin withdrew his gaze, uttered a command to Xavier, then got into his own car and drove away.

Xavier looked at Stuart: "Sorry, Stuart, we're all just doing our jobs for the boss. I hope you understand."

With that, Xavier hauled Stuart out and dropped him to the ground.

Then he hurriedly followed Darwin.

He still had no idea what was going on, why the boss suddenly wanted Stuart tied up, or why he suddenly vomited blood.

But his instincts told him a storm was about to hit.
As soon as Darwin left with his crew, the Rhoads family's bodyguard dashed out of the elevator and made it to the garage.

There, laid out in plain sight, was Stuart, drawing everyone's attention instantly.

"Stuart!!" they shouted in a chorus, rushing to his side.

Xavier must have had a particular knack for knots, because the ropes binding Stuart were tied with exceptional strength and complexity. It took a good while before the group finally managed to free him.

"That bastard Darwin!" Stuart rose to his feet, pointing in the direction Darwin had gone and cursed, then turned with urgency, "What about the lady? Is she alright?" "
