Chapter 450 First Love

After they got into the car, Kenny buckled Thalassa's seatbelt for her.
Thalassa was still in a bit of a daze.
The anger bubbling within him kept rising, but seeing her like that, he leaned in and kissed her fiercely twice.
"What are you doing?"
Thalassa covered her mouth, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him.
Then she said seriously, "Are you trying to swell my lips up so I look like I've got a sausage mouth?"
Kenny was speechless.
Gently, he kissed Thalassa's eyes.
"Don't listen to that lunatic's nonsense—I don't know her," Kenny said, sounding slightly hurt. "Before you, I haven't dated anyone."
"So, am I your first love?" Thalassa asked with a smile.
Kenny began to get playful again, nodding his head and hugging Thalassa tight, burying his face in the nape of her neck. "I'll take care of today's mess; I won't let it impact you negatively."
"Mr. Walker, don't be so tense," Thalassa said, stroking his head. "I trust you completely; I won't doubt you just because of what a couple of crazies said."
Despite Thalassa's reassuring words, Kenny wasn't in high spirits.
Mrs. Walker had been looking forward to the alum gathering today.
She bought a new dress, a matching handbag, and shoes.
She must be exhausted after a busy day at work, taking care of Charles and Chicago and still managing to join him.
It's such a foolish thing to attend. Unbelievable!
"We don't need to go to that boring party; let's go on a date and get some good food!" Thalassa's voice pulled him out of his mood.
"Okay, let's go on a date!"

Fiona burst into laughter when she heard Thalassa had become the new mother to her baby, Charles.
"What's with these days? Everyone seems determined to find a new mom for Charles and Chicago," she grumbled. "So, you handled it?"
Burl swelled with pride.
"Yep, I laid into those so-called silver spoon brats, those greenhouse-grown twerps. I could have trounced many of them with just a few words from me."
Fiona was amused. "So, did you find the person who started the rumor?"
"Of course!" Burl proudly displayed the evidence on Fiona's phone. "It's someone named Daisy Quinn. The forum account wasn't registered with her info, but trust me; I did my homework; she bought it from someone on a website. But the IP address doesn't lie."
Fiona nodded.
She skimmed the information at leisure.
The Quinn family ran a local funeral business in Bay City, a legacy handed down for three generations.
The Quinn family might not have been a wealthy family, but with their near-monopoly on the funeral business in Bay City, they were filthy rich nonetheless.

Daisy Quinn, however, was only afforded a little attention at home. Her birth had been fatal for her mother, and the Quinns believed it was a bad omen. To those who knew the family, it was no secret that Daisy was once not called by this name but was instead avoided, a symbol of the misfortune she brought.

After her father remarried, he and his new wife had four sons at a breakneck pace within a few years. During the birth of the fourth son, her stepmother died due to an amniotic fluid embolism. Rumors circulated that it was Daisy who had jinxed her stepmom. Her father grew even colder toward her.

Despite being a local, he insisted on sending her to boarding school and various camps during the summer and winter breaks. Thankfully, Daisy herself was exceptionally tidy in her affairs. She excelled in her studies and advanced swiftly, eventually attending one of the top-ranked universities in the world.

"I was researching her and had this epiphany. After all, there's no love or hatred without reason in this world. So, I took a deeper look into Kenny's academic journey," Burl squatted on the couch, playing a video game and narrating to Fiona with zeal. "The path this girl took was eerily similar to Kenny's. Wherever he went, she aimed to go!"

Fiona contemplated Daisy Quinn's story, which was undoubtedly a sympathetic one. But suffering and choosing to harm others were two different things.

"However..." Fiona glanced at the photos and videos of Charles taken and said, "Daisy Quinn doesn't live in this neighborhood. Where did these come from?"

"In my view, her actions are bordering on disturbed," Burl said, analyzing matter-of-factly. "My guess is she followed Kenny, figured out where he lived, and then snuck into the community to take these shots."

Fiona looked at the photos, lost in thought. She bought the villa for convenience: a temporary home when back in the States for projects. Thus, she had yet to consider all the potential issues. The standalone villas had some distance between neighbors, but not enough to prevent prying eyes.

Now, she and Darwin were in the spotlight, and there was an unusual amount of interest and curiosity about Charles and Chicago in the outside world. The security in the neighborhood, connected by internal roads, couldn't be called tight.

She phoned Mike.

"I'm sending you a picture and a video clip. Have the bodyguards at home check the angles from which they were taken."

"Got it!"

Fiona paused, "Have you heard anything from Stuart these past few days?"

"No..." Mike's tone dipped.

"Alright. Get some rest."

Fiona ended the call and exhaled deeply.
Grandma woke up to face not just the reality of Chris's passing but also Stuart's continued silence, his fate unknown.

Darwin was in the study, meeting with Solomon company's executives.

Ever since she returned, Darwin had been hit by a love bug, a far cry from the workaholic he once was. His focus had shifted, particularly after an injury from an explosion, the loss of Anniston, and taking on the role of a father.

Let's be honest: Solomon had a professional management team,
Lately, Darwin needed to put his heart into running the business.

"I'm heading to the hospital," Fiona said, getting up to leave.
"What should we do about this Daisy Quinn issue?" Burl asked.
Fiona chuckled, "Are you kidding? Is that for us to figure out? What's Kenny there for?"
Burl grumbled, "Men his age are mostly unreliable..."
Fiona reminded him while changing her shoes, "So you know, he's your age."
"That's exactly why I know. Men our age are unreliable. I have no idea what Janice sees in him..."
"Ever stop to think why Kenny managed to marry your sweet sis, Janice, and you're still single?" Fiona looked at Burl, hitting a nerve with her precise words.
The kid was brilliant, but something was off with his love life.
No moves were being made.
He wasn't interested, which would be one thing.
But recently, Burl had shown a keen interest in finding love.
Burl was speechless...
He felt like his character had been insulted!
Fiona drove to the hospital.
She asked about Janna's condition and received the usual response: all her vitals were stable.
Once the doctor left, Fiona sat by Janna's bedside, updating her on Thalassa's situation.
