Chapter 1252
Mentioning Marisole and Aiden, how could Attorney not think of the following content?
"Did Darwin say that?" Attorney asked.
"He talked about his background himself," Fiona said, her eyes downcast.
"I disagreed right away. When I tried to stop it, Brooke slapped me twice, saying I hadn't experienced the pain of losing a child, so how could I understand her heart-wrenching sorrow." Attorney shook his head.
Fiona stayed silent.
Attorney seemed to be reminded of something sad and felt unwell.
Seeing this, his student didn't stick around and immediately took Attorney to the hospital.
Henry was also exhausted.
Seeing this, Fiona gently said, "You've worked hard today. Go home and rest. I'll treat you to a meal another day."
"Okay," Henry nodded.
Seeing Fiona receive so many collections and jewels, he was happy for her.
Having more money was always good.
After Henry left, Fiona was about to leave too.
However, the lobby manager who had just assisted with the business suddenly ran towards Fiona. "Mrs. Solomon, please wait a moment, there's something else to confirm with you."
Fiona stopped and looked at the manager running over. "Didn't I sign everywhere that needed? Is there something missing?"
"No," the lobby manager said, opening an iPad and pulling up information about a locker. "You have another locker with us, and the payment is due next month. I was wondering if you need to merge the contents of this locker into your vault since there's still enough space in your vault."
He wanted Fiona to purchase property insurance from him. Because he knew her vault contained many valuable items, it was an enticing opportunity, so he was particularly eager to please her.
"Have I a locker here?" Fiona was astonished.
She did have her own vault, but not at Armie.
"Yes." The manager glanced at the locker opening date. "Exactly ten years."
Ten years ago, she was still Darwin's stand-in lover.
Although Darwin gave her a lot, it wasn't enough to warrant getting a locker for storage.
"Take me to see it," Fiona said.
Moments later, the locker was opened, which was empty, except for a notebook wrapped in a plastic bag.
Fiona took out the notebook.
She looked inside again, but there was nothing else.
Fiona renewed the locker for another year, but she didn't put the notebook back in.
The only person who could have opened such a locker in her name was Darwin.
Taking the notebook to the car, Fiona thought for a moment and carefully unwrapped the plastic bag.
The notebook cover was leather, and it seemed to have originally had a combination lock, which had been forcibly removed by someone.
Fiona was a bit uneasy.
It seemed that she was holding a Pandora's box.
She hesitated for a moment.
Then, she opened the first page, and a photo fell out.
She quickly bent down to pick it up.
The photo was of two people, seemingly a mother and son, but their faces were scratched out, making it impossible to tell who they were. It was an old photo from several years ago.
Fiona then turned the photo over.
The back had a note written in beautiful handwriting: [Aiden and Anniston, taken on Aiden's 15th birthday.]
