Chapter 1350
Rose nodded. "Yeah, the HR manager told me. I booked an early morning flight. Don't worry, I'll be back before the holiday ends!"
She looked genuinely concerned, like she was afraid Fiona wouldn't believe her.
Fiona wasn't one to get aggressive for no reason.
"Okay," she said with a light nod.
Rose bit her lip and handed Fiona a paper bag. "This is a Christmas and New Year's gift. There's a cashmere production place near the project office. This scarf is made from the best cashmere. It's super warm. I heard you get cold easily."
Fiona glanced at the bag.
She was about to take it.
Seeing this, Christopher quickly stepped forward. "Mrs. Solomon, let me."
The paper bag was opaque, and who knew what was inside. Rose had always been against Fiona before, and now she suddenly seemed so compliant. Christopher had to be cautious.
Rose didn't seem to mind.
Without the bag, she looked even more uneasy.
"I want to apologize for some of the things I said earlier," Rose said, avoiding Fiona's eyes. "This business trip made me reflect. I see now that my thinking was too limited. You've helped me realize that I'm capable; I can do things just as well as men."
"It's good you think that way. Keep it up. Even if Darwin comes back, you can still stay at the Solomon Group if you want to keep working," Fiona said gently.
Rose's eyes lit up. "Really? I can keep working at the Solomon Group?"
"Yes, but you'll have to rely on your own abilities." Fiona nodded slightly. "The Solomon Group is full of talented people. You'll have to surpass those ahead of you to stay secure."
"I will!" Rose nodded happily. "Fiona, I'm really grateful to you."
Fiona didn't show much emotion.
"Do your best," Fiona encouraged Rose, then checked her watch. "I need to head home for dinner. Have a good trip."
Rose nodded as she watched Fiona get into the car. She kept watching until the car disappeared from view.
She let out a light breath and walked to her own car, then drove away.
After getting in the car, Christopher quickly glanced at the paper bag.
Sure enough, there was only a high-quality cashmere scarf inside.
"Let me see," Fiona reached out.
But Christopher put the scarf back and said seriously, "We'll have Charlotte check it for any toxic substances when we get back."
"You have a strong opinion about Rose," Fiona said with a smile.
Christopher was driving, his eyes on the bustling crowd ahead. "Mrs. Solomon, people like us were trained like assassins from a young age."
The smile on Fiona's face slowly faded.
"Hundreds of kids raised together, but only one survives. The close companion you had a moment ago could stab you in the neck the next second." Christopher continued, "So people like us are very sensitive to our kind and to danger. Rose makes me very uncomfortable."
In fact, the first time Christopher saw Rose at Hubert's temporary office, he had a vague feeling like this.
"Really?" Fiona looked out the window. "If that's the case, we should be careful and keep an eye on her actions."
Christopher glanced at Fiona through the rearview mirror.
For some reason, when Fiona spoke just now, Christopher had a feeling that she wasn't surprised by what he said.
Could it be that Fiona had the same intuition?
"Understood, I'll contact Mike and have him arrange someone in Cyberia to monitor her every move." Christopher naturally wouldn't ask too many questions and responded accordingly.
Fiona didn't say a word; she simply nodded.
