Chapter 84 You're not Worthy of being my Child's Father
Back in the bedroom, Darwin gently laid Fiona on the bed and tucked her in with a blanket.
He brushed her hair softly and leaned down to kiss her lips.
Just a moment ago, when Fiona was being all sweet, Darwin suddenly realized what he had lost.
The thought that she'd never show him that kind of tenderness when she was awake ripped his heart apart.
Maybe, if time went on a bit longer, even in her daze, she wouldn't treat him like this anymore.
After a long while, a voice deep inside him asked, "Darwin, is it worth it?"
Afraid of waking Fiona, he headed to the guest bathroom to take a shower.
When he got back, his eyes landed on the nightstand.
He thought for a moment, then walked over and opened the drawer.
Inside, condoms were neatly lined up.
Without a second thought, Darwin grabbed them all, turned around, and tossed them into the trash. Worried Fiona might dig them out, he personally took the trash out.
Even though Fiona had already shot down the idea of having kids, Darwin had made up his mind. He'd go to any lengths to keep her, even if it meant stooping to the lowest levels.
He couldn't live without her anymore.
Turning off the bedroom light, Darwin lay down and skillfully pulled Fiona into his arms.
It wasn't long before Fiona woke up.
She blinked a few times. "Darwin, what time is it, you..."
Before she could finish, Darwin kissed her lips.
When it came to contraception, Darwin was always more on top of it than Fiona.
Fiona's mind was a mess, and she soon lost all sense of clarity.
It wasn't until the next morning, when Fiona woke up, that her reason and memory slowly came back.
She suddenly realized something was off about last night.
"Darwin!" she called out.
"What's up?" Darwin woke up, his voice sounding all satisfied and happy.
"Didn't you wear... last night..." Fiona didn't finish her sentence.
Darwin replied, "Yeah, not just last night, but until you get pregnant, I'm not wearing one."
"You jerk!" Fiona angrily tried to break free from his embrace.
But just as she was about to sit up, Darwin forcefully pushed her back down, then turned over, pinning her beneath him.
He had just woken up, and his reason hadn't fully returned.
He looked harsher than usual. "About having a baby. This isn't up for debate."
Fiona looked at him.
A huge sense of grievance and humiliation overwhelmed her, and her tears started rolling down in big drops.
Seeing this, Darwin frowned deeply. "What are you so upset about? I want to have our child, isn't that good? If you don't want the child to be registered under the Solomon family, then..."
Fiona slapped Darwin hard.
Darwin turned his head.
The room was suddenly filled with only his heavy breathing and Fiona's sobs.
"You're not worthy of being my child's father!" Fiona said through gritted teeth.
Darwin looked at her.
His eyes were filled with anger.
"So what? You're gonna have our kid anyway!" Darwin felt his heart bleeding.
So she really didn't like him.
She used to seem so in love with him. Why did she suddenly stop?
Was it all just an act?
Maybe it was out of anger, or maybe she was just super upset.
Fiona cried, "Darwin, there are plenty of people who want to have your kid. You still have Hathaway as your wife. Why don't you go to them?"
Darwin had never seen her cry like this.
His burning anger was half extinguished, and he frowned, feeling a bit lost.
"Fiona, do you have a heart?" he asked, "I don't just want a kid, I want a kid with you! Only you! Do you get that?"
"I don't get it!" Fiona shouted, "What did I do to deserve this? Being your substitute and now having to bear your kid? Why? Darwin, you're a jerk!"
She tried to hit Darwin again.
This time, he was ready and grabbed her hand, pinning it above her head.
Fiona glared at him, her eyes red and tears streaming down non-stop.
"Calm down." Darwin's posture gradually lowered.
He leaned down and kissed Fiona's eyes.
Fiona turned her head away in resistance.
"Fiona, I've tried my best to be good to you. What do you want me to do?" Darwin asked helplessly.
Fiona looked at him in silence.
After a moment, she answered, "Do you really want to be with me?"
"Of course, if I didn't, what have I been doing all this time?" Darwin quickly replied.
Fiona blinked her red eyes and then said confidently, "Then cancel your engagement and marry me."
Darwin was stunned.
Seeing this, Fiona laughed. "Can't you?"
"In a few years..." Darwin paused.
In a few years, when the cooperation with the Ross family was stable.
"I can't wait." Fiona interrupted him.
She didn't expect Darwin to give up such a huge business alliance for her.
But, letting him think that she was no longer the submissive girl she used to be, that she was also an ambitious woman, was good.
Maybe, because of this ambition, it would completely shatter his unrealistic illusions about her?
"Fiona, this is not up to you." Darwin lifted her chin and kissed her.
Fiona tried to turn her head away.
Darwin increased the pressure, and she couldn't break free from the pain.
She could only let him treat her like a dish, tasting her without restraint.
Seeing the situation getting out of control again, Fiona spoke, her voice trembling. "Darwin, that's enough."
Darwin chuckled and lay back down.
Fiona tried to run, but unsurprisingly, Darwin pulled her back into his arms.
He kissed her shoulder.
Then, he said slowly, "Don't even think about taking any random birth control pills. If I find out, you won't be in trouble, but someone else will be."
Fiona gritted her teeth.
Then she responded, "I understand."
"Good girl." Darwin's large hand rested on her smooth belly.
Fiona's whole body tensed up.
She finally understood Darwin had truly gone mad.At the very beginning, he had clearly said that he wouldn't allow the existence of illegitimate children.
But now, he seemed to have gone insane.
What exactly caused this?
Could it be because of something that happened when he went to see Lilian last time, something that twisted his mind?
But it had been more than half a year?
Darwin knew that Fiona was forced to agree.
But he thought even if she was forced, over time, she would eventually accept it.
