Chapter 821 Filled with Gossip
"Did you handle this in the afternoon?" Darwin asked.
Fiona nodded and said, "I've got all the authorizations and procedures done, and I even prepared a document for changing the name."
"You're always so thoughtful," Darwin said, his face full of admiration.
Fiona said with a smile, "Do you want to go back to the room to rest?"
Darwin shook his head, saying, "Stuart said Chicago should go pick her fruits at this time."
"Doesn't she study?" Fiona asked.
"She said she doesn't need that time," Darwin said with a smile.
Chicago looked soft and sticky. When she spoke logically, she was extremely cute.
"Alright, let's go together, consider it a walk!" Fiona said.
Darwin agreed.
They held hands and walked towards the orchard leisurely.
Mike was angrily scolding Jessie while holding it.
Jessie, being rebellious, turned its head away, ignoring Mike.
"What's wrong?" Fiona asked.
Jessie knew who was in charge at home.
Hearing Fiona's voice, it immediately perked up, lying down on the ground, showing it knew it had done something wrong.
"When I was escorting the rehab doctor out, it snarled at people!" Mike replied, "I told it the doctor was here to help Mr. Solomon, but it seemed to think the doctor was bullying him!"
Fiona laughed and waved at Jessie, saying, "Jessie, come here."
Jessie moved its sturdy body slowly to Fiona, still looking at Darwin, seemingly seeking help.
Darwin was speechless.
Fiona said, "I won't scold you this time, but if you do it again, I'll withhold your treats and won't let Darwin play with you for a week."
She didn't know if Jessie understood, but it stopped ignoring it, and its tail started wagging.
They arrived at the small orchard.
Thalassa, with a protruding belly, was using a small fan to cool off, with two small baskets by his feet. Inside were peaches and plums.
"Thalassa, aren't you uncomfortable in this heat?" Fiona was helpless and worried.
The weather had suddenly turned hot recently.
Pregnant women were naturally sensitive to heat.
"It's fine." Thalassa smiled gently. "The baby is very well-behaved."
"Daddy, Mommy!" Chicago said, wearing work pants and having a leaf stuck in her hair.
When she saw Fiona and Darwin coming, she immediately climbed down from the tree and ran over.
"You look hot." Fiona helped her remove the leaf from her head.
Chicago smiled and then looked at Darwin, asking, "Daddy, is your rehab finished? Do you feel better?"
"Yes!" Darwin replied.
"That's great; look at my peach harvest! We can make peach pie tonight!" Chicago was ecstatic.
Jessie was also excited, barking happily.
"I'll share with you, too!" Chicago was very generous.
Jessie became even happier.
"Chicago is a good girl. Everything at home is well arranged by you, both family and pets!" Thalassa praised generously.
"Do you need my help?" Darwin offered.
Chicago was a bit worried, asking, "Is it okay?"
"Of course!" Fiona chimed in.
Chicago immediately brightened up, saying, "There's still a tree over there that I haven't picked yet; Dad bought it for me!"
That tree was actually closer to the exit.
Logically, Chicago should have picked that tree first.
The careful thoughts of children, though they thought they hid them well, were apparent to the adults.
She wanted to pick that tree with her dad. They walked hand in hand over.
Thalassa, looking excited, turned to Fiona and said, "I heard about the restaurant incident. It's so thrilling!"
"Thrilling?" Fiona was unaware of the follow-up.
Thalassa immediately reeled off the follow-up development at the restaurant.
"The Last time I went to the restaurant, I chatted with the operations manager. They were planning to replace this batch of tableware anyway. It felt like they stumbled upon a fortune!" Thalassa said she also knew about Eleanor's situation.
For someone to treat a child like that. In the past, Thalassa would have scolded them for days.
Now, as a soon-to-be mother, her maternal instincts were kicking in. She despised such parents even more!
"I think they'll face the consequences!" Thalassa snorted.
"I think so, too!" Fiona raised her hand and high-fived Thalassa.
Thalassa's mood improved instantly. She said, "By the way, I've seen gossip about Wyatt in a few groups recently, saying someone abandoned him. Now he's about to marry that person, but the person turned around and married an antique dealer without his knowledge. That antique dealer... I heard he used to be a priest!"
"What?" Fiona was shocked.
Thalassa said, "Don't you know about this? I remember you knew Wyatt's girlfriend?"
Fiona asked in astonishment, "Firstly, Wyatt wasn't abandoned, and secondly, he used to be a priest for real?"
"Let me show you!" Thalassa took out the photo and said, "It's this one."
She pointed to the photo of a thin man who seemed out of place among the others, with an air of elegance.
"I have a friend in a group who knows him. He grew up in the church from the age of three or four, returned to society ten years ago, and started dealing in antiques. Some say he's wealthy, while others say he's just a small-time player." Thalassa paused. "But whether he's wealthy or not, he's definitely no match for the Durham family. What's up with your friend? Didn't she date Wyatt for over a decade?"
Fiona replied, "Yeah, they've been together for over a decade and still aren't married."
Hearing that, Thalassa instantly understood.
"Who's spreading rumors that she abandoned Wyatt? They even said Wyatt went to reconcile with her, got into a car accident there, and she didn't care, staying with her new lover at a spa hotel..." Thalassa's voice trailed off.
At the time, others described it as a three-day battle.
Fiona looked at Alexander in the photo, saying lightly, "They've always been like this."
"Always like this?" Thalassa was puzzled.
Fiona explained, "Since the day I met Stella, these people have always been slandering her with all sorts of accusations."
"What are they after?" Thalassa asked.
"Who knows." Fiona's eyes were dark and oppressive. "Maybe just being mean."
"And one more thing, did you know?" Thalassa pursed her lips and said, "Stella almost married this man's nephew ten years ago."
Fiona was taken aback. She only knew once that Stella almost got engaged.
Could it be...
"How coincidental, the priest also returned to society ten years ago!" Thalassa raised an eyebrow gossipy at Fiona.
Fiona couldn't help but laugh at her expression.
"Look at you, so into gossip!" Fiona shook her head with a smile and said, "I've been invited to her wedding, so when I go, I'll find out more for you, okay?"
"Are you going to the wedding?" Thalassa was shocked and asked, "Oh my god! So, will you witness Wyatt's wedding crash?" "
