Chapter 1173
Nathaniel never thought anyone would catch that comment he quickly deleted.
So, when he saw Armie's unfamiliar number pop up, he figured it was about this month's cash.
He picked up fast, "Hey, what's the deal? I was supposed to get my money yesterday. Where is it?"
"Nathaniel." Fiona's voice was calm but firm.
Nathaniel's anger fizzled out.
A wave of panic hit him, making it hard to breathe.
"Why are you calling?" Nathaniel asked nervously. "I haven't caused any trouble. I've been good, but the money you send keeps shrinking!"
After all, he was Brooke's son.
Fiona didn't want to mistreat Nathaniel.
While she couldn't let him blow through millions every month, she gave him enough to live comfortably.
But Nathaniel had no self-control.
He'd blow through the money fast, thinking he could always get more.
Fiona wasn't going to indulge him anymore.
"What did you post on Twitter today?" Fiona asked coldly.
Nathaniel, still a bit angry, was stunned.
"What Twitter? I haven't been following the news back home. Are you just looking for an excuse to cut my allowance?" he tried to dodge.
He wished he could slap himself. Why did he post that comment?
"Nathaniel, I'm out of patience. You have two choices: I stop giving you money, or you stop playing dumb and answer my questions honestly," Fiona said, clearly angry.
Nathaniel panicked. "Fiona, don't be so harsh. I just posted a comment and deleted it quickly. It didn't cause any trouble. Although I'm not Darwin's dad, I am quite old. If my mom knew you were treating me like this..."
"How did Aiden die?" Fiona cut him off, uninterested in his whining.
Silence.
For a moment, Fiona wondered if Nathaniel had dropped dead.
"Suicide, didn't you know?" Nathaniel finally said.
"Why did he commit suicide? Does it have anything to do with the mental illness you mentioned?" Fiona pressed.
More silence.
Fiona waited.
After about half a minute, Nathaniel spoke again, "I want two million dollars and no more cuts to my allowance."
