Chapter 1192
Chicago tugged on Darwin's sleeve. "Dad, it's your turn!"
Darwin snapped out of it and placed a chess piece.
'Who went out?' he wondered, glancing upstairs again.
Just then, Burl called.
Darwin got up and answered, "Burl, what's up?"
"Darwin, my stomach's killing me. I didn't want to scare Charles and Chicago, so Fiona's taking me to the doctor," Burl said, clearly in pain.
Darwin frowned. "Is it serious?"
Burl replied, "Not sure. Fiona asked you to watch Charles and Chicago. I need to go to the ER."
Darwin said, "Got it."
He ended the call and texted Fiona: [Drive safe. Call me if anything comes up.]
Fiona clutched her phone tightly, tears welling up as she saw Darwin's message.
The roads were clear that evening.
Twenty minutes later, Fiona arrived at Hubert's research institute, which was brightly lit.
Fiona clenched her fist and headed straight upstairs.
Hubert was swamped. After dealing with Patricia's issue, he still had research reports and a paper to finish.
He was about to brew coffee when he heard a commotion outside. "Mrs. Solomon, you don't have an appointment. Dr. Hubert is very busy."
"Move aside!" Fiona shouted.
"Chelsea?" Hubert put down the coffee pot and hurriedly opened the door.
Seeing the furious Fiona, Hubert immediately understood.
"Dr. Hubert," Elowen said, looking uneasy.
"No need for that. Mrs. Solomon, please come in," Hubert said, then told Elowen, "Bring the new cheesecake in."
Elowen nodded, giving a wary glance at Fiona and Burl.
"Burl, wait for me outside," Fiona said.
"No way, I have to stay with you," Burl insisted, clinging to Fiona's clothes.
"It's okay. If anything happens to me here, no one will survive," Fiona said, looking at Hubert.
Hubert sighed. "Mrs. Solomon, nothing will happen to you here."
"Be good," Fiona told Burl.
Burl frowned. "I'll sit at the door. The door can't be locked. If I hear anything wrong, I'll rush in!"
"Alright," Fiona said, gently patting Burl's back.
She then strode towards Hubert.
Hubert gave Burl a reassuring look and followed Fiona inside.
The door closed.
Burl immediately sat on the bench facing the door.
Inside, Fiona looked at Hubert. "You know why I'm here, right?"
Hubert nodded. "You know my father is Aiden's doctor, and the patient I mentioned before is Aiden."
"What do you know?" Fiona asked, exuding a powerful aura.
Hubert said, "I know Mr. Solomon's father is Aiden, not Nathaniel. I also know Brooke's genes carry a hereditary mental illness."
Fiona was shocked.
"Here are the related documents," Hubert said, taking out a stack of yellowed papers from the safe and handing them to Fiona. "Everything you want to know is in here."
