Chapter 1183

Fiona stared at Hubert, totally stunned. "What happened next?"

"He found out while his treatment was going well," Hubert said, shaking his head with regret. "He killed his beloved. Those memories haunted him. What do you think he chose?"

"Death," Fiona blurted out.

Hubert nodded.

Fiona turned pale. "Darwin just has schizophrenia; it's not that serious."

"Mrs. Solomon, you're smart. You know what I mean," Hubert said gently. "It's your call."

Fiona gripped the report, veins bulging. "I get it. I'll think it over."

"Here's the prescription," Hubert said, handing her a slip. "It covers his sleep and hallucination meds."

"Thanks," Fiona said, taking it, feeling a lump in her throat.

"The patient my father treated was decades ago. Medicine's advanced a lot since then. With cooperation, patients can improve. Look at Patricia; she's doing better despite her severe condition," Hubert reassured her.

Fiona nodded.

Hubert didn't say more and escorted her downstairs.

Fiona got into her car, taking deep breaths to calm down.

Just as she was about to call Darwin, Mike's call came in.

Fiona answered, exhausted.

She was about to tell Mike he could stop looking for Rex when he said, "Chelsea, where are you? I'm at Emerald Pool and can't find you."

"What's wrong?" Fiona asked, alarmed by Mike's serious tone.

"I need to see you now!" Mike whispered, as if avoiding someone.

Then Fiona heard Darwin's voice. "Mike, are you looking for Fiona?"

Mike hung up.

At Emerald Pool, Mike saw Darwin approaching. Strange images flashed in his mind.

He forced a smile. "Mr. Solomon."

"Fiona went to Monsoon Investment. What's the rush? Something happen?" Darwin asked gently.

But Mike felt a chill.

"Nothing, just too many staff here. I wanted to ask Chelsea to tell Ms. Janna Rhoads I want to work with her," Mike said.

"I see," Darwin replied.

Mike nodded, forcing a smile. "Mr. Solomon, I'll go shower. I'll talk to Chelsea when she's back."

As he turned to leave, Darwin's chilling voice stopped him. "Mike."

Mike froze, sweating.

"You're loyal to Janna and Fiona," Darwin said, walking over.

Mike steadied himself. "Mr. Solomon, my life belongs to them. I'll do anything for their safety!"

Darwin looked at him, then nodded. "Very good."

Mike wiped his sweat. "Mr. Solomon, anything else? I need to shower."

"Nothing, go ahead," Darwin said.

Mike ran off.

Near his place, he checked the message Fiona had sent earlier.
