Chapter 584 Is Lilian That Tough?

Fiona gently patted Darwin's back.
"Then, do I still count as a stand-in for Lilian?"
"Of course not!" Darwin immediately released Fiona, replying very seriously, "It was Lilian who vilely took over the identity that was supposed to be yours. If she hadn't replaced you back then, I would have kept looking and eventually found you."
If he had found Fiona, then, during the time Fiona's grandmother had the accident, Fiona wouldn't have had to feel so scared and lowly.

Fiona watched Darwin.
Suddenly she smiled.

"I'm happy," Fiona smiled. "So, you were looking for me from the beginning, that feels pretty good."

Darwin thought about the past ten years of mistaking her identity, and, owing to Lilian's lifesaving favor. He had hurt Fiona's heart over and over again.
"Alright, no need to keep apologizing. Let's go cut away this past regret," Fiona said softly, caressing Darwin's cheek.

Darwin had not been in touch with Lilian all this time.
This made Lilian extremely anxious.
Upon seeing a new announcement from Darwin, Lilian became furious.
"He wants to do a DNA test? Then go do it!" Jason egged her on from the side. "Lilian, you've already been kind enough, giving them face!"
"Yeah!"
Lilian clenched her fists tightly.
‘Darwin, are you really that confident?
‘Then I'll just wait to see how scared you are when the DNA results come out.’ Lilian thought.
Shortly after, Lilian tagged Darwin in a post on her social account.
Lilian: [@Darwin, 3 PM this afternoon. You pick a testing center. I pick a testing center, and then let the public pick a testing center. It's indeed time for this matter to be resolved!]
Alongside the post, there was also a poll featuring several reputable testing centers.
The comment box was filled with comments immediately.
[Lilian seems pretty confident, eh? I'm siding with Lilian on this one!]
Lilian: [I won't disappoint you.]
[Lilian, do you admit you were the mistress between Fiona and Mr. Darwin?]
Lilian: [I do not admit that. Do you admit Fiona climbed to the top by being my understudy?]
This reply set the internet ablaze.
Although the rumors had always been swirling, Darwin had never publicly acknowledged Lilian. So the whole understudy affair had always remained speculative. But now, one of the principals had stepped into the fray, openly naming names, seeming to confirm the longstanding understudy rumors.
Gossip boards lit up in an instant.

There were nine images attached.
Under the clear blue skies, amidst vegetable patches and a small greenhouse, the silhouettes of a tall figure and a smaller one were captured.
A table adorned with an abundant feast sat outdoors, while a golden retriever lounged on the grass with its hat-wearing owner nearby.
Shots of Kenny and the small figure directing fruit-picking activities were interspersed with images of a raspberry cake.
The final picture depicted a serene scene; a little girl and Thalassa nestled in the arms of an individual whose face was obscured from the camera's view. However, the shoulder-length haircut and pearl earrings unmistakably identified her.
"Hilarious! The internet was abuzz with comments while Fiona are Gardening, sunbathing, eating cake, and playing with Chicago and Fiona!"
Thalassa replied, "Love playin' with my babe, so soft and cuddly."
The comments were filled with people expressing their envy and desire to join in on the fun.
"Oh my God! The kiddo is so cute, Chicago and your hubby's photo, is she directing him to pick something?" one commenter asked.
"Yeah, they almost had a falling out over which fruit to pick," Thalassa replied.
"I wanna kidnap that child, Chicago looks so squishy and milky," another comment read.
"You're right, Chicago is super cuddly, and I love her so much," Thalassa responded.
"P3's covered in so much mud, are you guys really gardening?" someone inquired.
"She’s really into gardening lately," Thalassa confirmed.
Of course, there were also questions about Lilian's pregnancy.
"Lilian's carrying her husband's child, isn't she worried?" one person asked.
"Thalassa, your man's so great, you should convince Fiona to dump Darwin already!! It makes me so mad," another demanded.
"What do you think about Fiona, who stepped up by being someone else's understudy and then bullying Lilian?"
"And to think, best friends—one steps in as a double, and the other dates a stepfather's son!"
However, Thalassa didn't need to reply to these comments.
There were plenty of clear-headed people on the internet to come to Thalassa's defense.
Lilian saw the comments on Thalassa's social media as well and couldn't accept Fiona's indifferent attitude, making it seem like she was the only hysterical one in the situation.
"Lilian, Darwin's lawyer sent the address for the paternity center," Jason rushed in. "I suddenly feel uneasy; Darwin seems not to be worried at all."
It had been a long time since he had made any contact with Lilian.
In Jason's mind, Darwin should have reached out to Lilian immediately, trying to settle the scandal with money.
However, there was nothing.
Even Darwin's lawyer was simply updating the case publicly on social media platforms.
