Chapter 819 Courageous to the Skies?
Elizabeth was stunned. She immediately got angry and said, "Who do you think you are, trying to send my son to jail?"
"Mom!" Benjamin trembled in fear and immediately shouted at Elizabeth, "Can you stop causing trouble?"
"It's fine. I've already timed it here. Let her shout," Fiona chuckled briefly. Elizabeth, I heard that back in your hometown, you were boasting about how well Benjamin is doing in Bay City, how he worked hard for his own house and car, and all your relatives and friends back home are envious."
Elizabeth was taken aback and asked, "Did you go to my hometown to inquire about me?"
"Yes, I know all about the things you did back in your hometown, and I've even met some old women who really dislike you. If I were to share some of your secrets with them, how long do you think it would take for the whole town to know?" Fiona smiled warmly and said, "For example... Benjamin drained his wife. The house and car were all obtained through exploiting his wife. Or how he manipulated the company's resources for personal gain, leading to imprisonment..."
"How dare you!" Elizabeth shouted.
"Alright, then I'll dare to do it, Christopher." Fiona nodded.
Christopher immediately took out his phone and dialed a number.
The call was quickly answered.
Before Elizabeth could react, she heard a familiar voice, "Sir, have you found out about that thing with Elizabeth?"
"It's not about her, what about her son?" Christopher spoke.
Elizabeth panicked instantly, whispering very softly, "Fine! We'll sign!"
Elizabeth nodded immediately.
Christopher hung up without saying another word.
The old lady on the phone just now was a friend Elizabeth grew up with.
Their relationship had always been strained.
From childhood competition in basic needs to marriage as adults.
She had always been a step ahead of Elizabeth.
Elizabeth's parents had many children, and the family lived frugally. The men used whatever food or fabric they had sparingly.
The old lady was different; although her family was also large, she was the only kid.
In childhood, Elizabeth couldn't compete in basic needs.
Later on, when they grew up, Elizabeth seemed to have married well, but within two years, the old lady's husband went into business and suddenly became wealthy.
Apart from that, she had her first daughter. Five or six years later, she finally had a son.
But the old lady had twins, both boys.
The year she had her son, the old lady, had a daughter who was treated like a treasure.
However, she wasn't very lucky. Her several sons all died in their teens or twenties from illness or accidents. Now, she was left with only one daughter. It said that her daughter ran a profitable sewage treatment company.
But no matter how much money the girl made, she was still someone else's person, wasn't she?
Originally, their relationship could have been more friendly.
Elizabeth always mentioned the deaths of the old lady's sons. This eventually provoked the old lady, leading to irreconcilable differences.
In recent years, Elizabeth moved to Bay City with Benjamin and lived a glamorous life.
She always felt that Benjamin's success could overshadow the old lady's daughter.
If the old lady found out that a woman bought Benjamin's house and car and that he was going to jail, the old lady would definitely be laughing their heads off!
Elizabeth would rather die than let such a thing happen!
Fiona had a detailed document drafted by a lawyer.
Benjamin signed it reluctantly.
As he looked at Eleanor's name, he suddenly felt a twinge of reluctance.
He looked at Fiona, asking, "Ms. Solomon, when do you plan to send Eleanor away?"
"Do you have any other ideas, Benjamin?" Fiona asked coldly.
"If it's not too soon, I'd rather bring Elizabeth back home, otherwise... I don't know when I'll see her again if she leaves now," Benjamin said, his eyes reddening.
Fiona fell silent.
"Forget it," Fiona stood up and said, "She's been beaten by Elizabeth and Caroline, mentally abused by Ms. Dashwood, and left without food; you stood by and did nothing to help her or show her any fatherly love. She's finally escaped from misery, so don't try to play the good father now; it's sickening to see you act that way."
Benjamin's face turned deathly pale.
Fiona walked to the door, and only then did Benjamin speak, "What about those documents..."
"I want Eleanor to be undisturbed, to grow up healthy and happy," Fiona glanced at Benjamin and said, "I'll have the appropriate person take care of these things, and I'll have people keep an eye on you. If you and your family don't bother Eleanor, you'll be fine, but if you do anything, you know the consequences."
After Fiona finished speaking, she left without looking back. The security and the lawyer followed suit.
Benjamin stood there, looking pale and shaky.
In the next room, Elizabeth and Caroline heard the silence outside and immediately came over.
"How did it go? Did she return your things?" Elizabeth asked.
"Did she say where she got those photos and videos of mine?" Caroline asked with Elizabeth simultaneously.
Elizabeth slapped Caroline across the face.
"You're an adult; don't you have any sense of proportion? It's just a few photos and videos; what's the big deal? How many men did you sleep with during those years? Can you even count?" Elizabeth continued.
Caroline's mind went blank.
"Mom, am I really your daughter? How can you say such cruel things?" Caroline screamed.
"You've become quite bold, daring to challenge me like this? Say one more word, and you'll pack your things and leave tonight!" Elizabeth seemed unsatisfied and added, "Victoria Hawthorne is about the same age as your brother. She runs a company, and you're older than her by a few years, yet you can only sell yourself! They're practically breaking down the door to discuss marriage over there; what about you? No man wants you! If it weren't for Benjamin's kind heart and willingness to support you, you would have been out on the streets long ago! And you dare to shout at me here!"
Victoria was none other than the daughter of the old lady Christopher had called earlier.
Caroline glared, thinking about how she had never been treated well by Elizabeth since she was young.
She was always scolding and hitting her.
Caroline always ranked first in middle school exams.
But Elizabeth didn't let her go to high school, and at a young age, she was kicked out of work.
Later, when Caroline was bullied, she went to Elizabeth in tears to complain.
Elizabeth took 400 dollars from the bully and forbade her from reporting it!
Later, Elizabeth lets Caroline be a prostitute to make quick money to earn Benjamin's college tuition since Caroline has been with other men.
Memories flashed through Caroline's mind. She completely broke down.
"Fine, I'll leave, just give me back my money!" Caroline shouted.
Elizabeth was stunned. She had never imagined that Caroline would dare to resist her.
