Chapter 1008

"Yes," Alexander said, wrapping his arm around Stella's waist.

"Then let's not think about it." Stella nodded gently, but she couldn't let go of the matter in her heart.

If Mason were willing, she would have taken him away from the church.

Meanwhile, Liam was wiping a portrait of Father Ben when Mason arrived.

He had set up a table in his room and placed Father Ben's portrait on it.

"Liam," Mason called out.

Liam wiped his tears and turned to see Mason. "Why are you alone? Where's Father Alexander?"

"Father Alexander took Mrs. Beaumont out for dinner." Mason stepped over the threshold. "Liam, do you have anything to eat? I'm hungry."

Liam, feeling sullen, handed Mason a donut. "Why didn't you go out for dinner with Father Alexander? Why come here to eat donuts?"

"Father Alexander is a guest. I should take care of him, not go out to enjoy myself." Mason sat down, eating the donut.

Liam looked at him, then sat down across from him. "Mason, you like Mrs. Beaumont so much. Have you ever thought about staying with them forever?"

"I am not going anywhere." Mason didn't even lift his eyelids.

Liam was slightly taken aback.

"I like it at the church," Mason added.

"Mason, Father Ben has passed away. Father Alexander won't often come anymore. Once a year would be considered good. You might not know, but Father Alexander and Mrs. Beaumont live abroad most of the time, very far away. It takes a ten-hour flight to get there." Liam frowned. "You won't see Mrs. Beaumont for a long time."

Mason paused his chewing for a moment.

"Then I won't see her," Mason said, his voice choked, eyes reddening. "Maybe my bond with Mrs. Beaumont is only for this period. Father Ben taught me not to force things."

Liam said, "If you go with Father Alexander and Mrs. Beaumont, your bond will continue! Leaving the church, you can go to school, meet new friends, have a mom and dad!"

"But I won't have you." Mason's voice was small but struck Liam like thunder.

"Me?" Liam grew angry.

Mason said nothing, burying his head in the donut.

Liam, not good with words, fell silent at the sight.

Just when he thought the topic was over, Mason suddenly said, "Liam, don't you want me anymore?"

Liam's heart trembled. "No, I just want you to have a better life."

With his parents' love, he could see the outside world and, after seeing it, decide what kind of life he wanted. He will not be trapped in the church, growing only along the path they set.

"I'm already very good!" Mason suddenly looked up, crying and shouting at Liam, "I don't want to leave the church, don't want to leave everyone, I don't want to go anywhere!"

It was the first time Liam saw Mason so heartbroken.

Panicking, he immediately went over to hug Mason, gently patting his back. "Alright, if you don't want to go, you don't have to. Father Ben never said you must go. Don't cry!"

"Don't say such things again! It's very hurtful!" Mason continued.

Liam nodded repeatedly. "It was my fault this time. I won't do it again!"

Mason cried on Liam's shoulder.

Having a mom would be great, but he already had a dad. Liam, who raised him, was his dad. How could he abandon the dad who raised him to have a mom?
