Chapter 1380
Jessie was usually friendly to everyone, but Wyatt was one of the rare exceptions.
Jessie wagged his tail and didn't even give Wyatt a second look.
Rose watched Wyatt walk away, her heart racing. For a split second, she thought Wyatt might have found something out and was there to warn her.
Turns out, it was just because Fiona wanted to give Rose a new project, and Wyatt was worried she'd mess it up.
The vacation was a blast.
Rose spent three relaxing days at Emerald Pool.
She went back to work for a couple of days.
Then she flew to Valcia with Fiona.
When they got to Valcia, Fiona didn't take her to the meetings with the big shots.
Rose wasn't too bothered by it.
She called her lab partners and set up a meeting.
Fiona stayed in Valcia for three days.
On the fourth day, they headed to Cyberia.
Hubert picked them up at the airport.
Rose spotted Hubert first. He was still in his lab coat, hair a bit messy, looking lost in thought.
Without Rose around, Hubert's life seemed pretty chaotic.
Rose noticed and felt a bit smug.
"Mr. Graham," Fiona called out.
Hubert snapped back to reality.
He walked over with a smile and glanced at Rose. "Rose hasn't been causing you any trouble, has she?"
"Not at all. She's really grown," Fiona said, linking arms with Rose. "When we get back, I'm going to let her handle a project on her own."
"That's awesome!" Hubert looked at Rose and patted her head. "Rose, this is the start of something big for you. Keep it up, and one day you'll be as famous as Mrs. Solomon!"
Rose replied, "I can't compare to Mrs. Solomon. Hubert, stop it. We haven't even eaten yet!"
Hubert quickly led them out of the airport.
On the way, no one mentioned the medication.
But Rose couldn't hold back and asked, "Hubert, has the medication research really come that far?"
"Yeah," Hubert replied. "I found some really useful stuff in my dad's notes, and with Mrs. Solomon's funding, I've made a lot of progress!"
"That's amazing!" Rose nodded. "Once the medication is ready, it'll help so many families, and you'll win tons of awards!"
She looked at Fiona and said, "Most importantly, Mrs. Solomon and the kids won't have to wait in agony anymore. Mr. Solomon will be able to come home soon!"
After she finished speaking, she turned to Hubert and continued, "During New Year, Mrs. Solomon took me to their house. Hubert, you've never been there, right? The atmosphere is incredible. I slept like a baby. Once Mr. Solomon is back, it'll be even better!"
Rose was really happy.
She seemed genuinely hopeful that Darwin would recover soon and be back with Fiona and the kids.
Hubert smiled.
But his eyelids drooped.
At that moment, he desperately hoped that what he felt was real.
