Chapter 124 Who is the Father of the Child?
"No need. I won't be at ease until I see her wake up," Fiona promptly refused without thinking.
Dagmar didn't insist either.
They stayed outside the ICU, accompanying Fiona.
As the night grew darker, Emma witnessed the entire process of Fiona catching Darwin red-handed. To be honest, when Fiona left, her face was so pale. Emma started to feel some regret. In this world, there really wasn't a need for so many truths.
Are truths not just hurtful?

After being tangled in her thoughts the entire day, Emma decided to call Fiona in the middle of the night. The phone rang for a while before it was answered. Finally, Fiona picked up the call.
When Emma heard Fiona's voice, she let out a sigh of relief. "You scared me. I thought you would never answer my calls again!"
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line.
"You already knew Darwin was with someone else in the hospital and deliberately let me catch them, didn't you?" Fiona calmly asked.
Emma sighed. "I admit, it was deliberate, but I certainly didn't want to hurt you."
"I understand," Fiona responded. "I don't blame you. It's better to see the truth earlier than get involved deeper."
"So, you don't want Darwin anymore?" Emma hurriedly asked.
"Yeah. I don't want him."
"Huh? I thought... you wouldn't be able to let go."
In Emma's perception, Fiona was still the delicate canary who once nestled by Darwin's side.
"There are plenty of men out there. I can find someone else," Fiona's tone turned cold.
"Cool!" Emma gave her a thumbs up.
"Emma, I suggest you run away for safety's sake," Fiona suddenly changed the topic.
"What do you mean? Are you selling me out?" Emma panicked.
Fiona smiled helplessly. "The reason why I appeared in the hospital today is because Darwin will definitely investigate. If he checks the hospital's surveillance footage, you won't be able to escape."
"Alright! Understood! I'll buy a plane ticket immediately!"
Emma hung up the phone in a hurry, not even waiting to complete her discharge procedures, and rushed out with her arm in a sling. Fortunately, luck was on her side. Just as she got into the car, Darwin's bodyguard stormed into her hospital room but he missed her. The bodyguard went back to report the situation.
"She ran away?" Darwin's face turned incredibly dark. "Search every corner and find her, no matter what!"
He had already planned to confess everything to Fiona. All because of Emma, that crazy woman. This made Fiona, who had no idea, unexpectedly see him with Lilian being together.
He didn't know how long it would take to resolve this misunderstanding! There's no way he would easily let go of Emma!
"Darwin, Miss Woods still ignoring you?" Lilian's voice came from behind.
Darwin remained with an icy face and a daunting aura. "How did you come out?"
"I saw that you were unhappy all along and I was worried," Lilian's tone was gentle. "Otherwise, let me try to find Miss Woods. It's easier for girls to communicate with each other."
"Don't go find her!" Darwin frowned slightly.
Lilian was taken aback. "I... I don't have any ill intentions. I just don't want her to misunderstand you..."
She didn't finish her sentence.
Darwin's phone rang. He immediately took out his phone with anticipation.
Lilian watched him, but his expression gradually cooled down after seeing the caller ID clearly. There was even more impatience on his face.
Lilian glanced at the caller ID. It was... Anniston.
"Is it Aunt?" Darwin glanced at Lilian, who had turned pale. He hung up Anniston's call directly.
"You can answer it!" Lilian hurriedly said, "I... I can avoid it!"
Lilian trembled visibly in fear of Anniston, evident even to the naked eye. He felt increasingly uncomfortable in his heart.
"Lilian, you don't have to be afraid of her anymore. I am no longer under her influence," Darwin's tone softened a bit.
Lilian looked at him and nodded slightly. At this moment, Anniston's call came again.
Darwin frowned.
"You should answer it, just in case it's something urgent," Lilian empathized, "I'll go back to the ward first..."
"Okay."
Lilian then turned and left.
Darwin, with a cold face, answered the phone. "If it's about the engagement, I won't pick up your calls again in the future."
"Where are you now?" Anniston angrily asked, "Are you with Fiona?"
"Are you okay?" Darwin asked.
"Of course I have a problem, a big problem!" Anniston slammed the table, "Darwin, I've raised you with great effort, how could you be deceived by a woman and be so foolish!"
Darwin didn't want to listen anymore and was about to hang up. But right before hanging up, he faintly heard Anniston say, "Let me tell you, I won't let her illegitimate child enter the gates of the Solomon family!"
"What nonsense are you talking about? What child? What illegitimate child?" Darwin asked in a deep voice.
"Fiona is pregnant, don't you know?" Anniston asked.
Darwin was stunned., just standing there, "Who told you?"
"I have all the copies of the reports! I even found out who the child's father is! His name is Dagmar, a pediatrician!"
Sniff... Sniff...
"Judging by your reaction, you know nothing, huh?" Anniston sneered, "This child was conceived during the time you were away on a business trip for nearly a month. She was afraid of being discovered, so she secretly went back to Serene City for a prenatal check-up. She went to the hospital where Dagmar works, and every time, it was Dagmar running around. Everyone at their hospital knows that Fiona is Dagmar's fiancée and that the child in her belly is his!"
Memories started flooding Darwin's mind. There were fragments of memories scattered around. When he brought Fiona back, she subconsciously protected her belly.
During each intimate moment, She asked him to be gentle. And recently, she was so nauseous.
Whenever he asked, she brushed it off as an upset stomach.
"Are you not with Fiona now?" Anniston continued, her tone now mocking, "I suppose she can't be with you now. She went to a hospital this afternoon to have an abortion, and Dagmar hurriedly came to Bay City as soon as he found out. Right now, that lovey-dovey couple doesn't even know where they are while also planning for you to become a father, Darwin!"
"Mom, are you happy that your son is being cuckolded?" Darwin coldly asked.
On the other end, Anniston choked for a moment.
