Chapter 1037
The driver was momentarily stunned. But in the next second, he quickly changed direction and drove straight towards where Fiona had indicated.
"What's going on?" Thalassa grabbed the seatbelt and asked Fiona in surprise.
"Don't you think this combination looks particularly familiar?" Fiona said as she dialed Christopher's number.
Christopher answered, "Mrs. Solomon."
"Where are Charles and Chicago?" Fiona asked.
"Charles is playing chess with Mr. Solomon and Mr. Beaumont. The other children are sleeping in Chicago's room," Christopher replied.
"How many besides Charles?" Fiona continued.
Christopher said, "Five, and the second young master of the Walker family is also here."
Brady's brother, Declan, also stay with Chicago.
After turning the corner, Fiona's view of the children by the riverbank was obstructed.
"Confirm immediately!" Fiona commanded sharply.
Christopher immediately sensed that something was wrong. He hurriedly turned and walked inside. When he reached the door, he didn't bother to knock and pushed it open directly.
The children and Jessie were nowhere to be seen.
A thunderous roar echoed in Christopher's mind.
"Mrs. Solomon, they are not here!" Christopher said.
"Bring people to the riverbank!" Fiona said, hanging up directly.
She urged the driver, "Please hurry up!"
"Is it really them?" Stella asked in shock, "These kids are so bold. Are they playing by the river with such strong currents?"
Fiona's face was grim.
By the river.
The children were bewildered by the submerged riverbank and the rushing river.
"Let's go back." Ethan glanced at the others. "The river is too turbulent; it's dangerous."
"Brady, it seems I can't fulfill my promise to you for now. We'll have to do it next year. Mommy said that as long as I like it, we can come here every summer!" Chicago said apologetically, "Next year, I will definitely bring you to catch crabs again!"
"You managed to sneak me out and didn't mind me bringing my brother. I'm already very grateful. You don't need to feel sorry!" Brady sighed and looked at his happy brother, Declan. "Since we can't catch crabs, let's go back and eat some cupcakes!"
"Yes!" They all agreed happily.
Then, each in a relatively good mood, they turned to leave.
At that moment, a cry for help suddenly came from the direction of the bridge.
Chicago was the first to hear it and immediately turned his head.
"Look, there's someone!" Brady pointed towards the bridge, where a woman was struggling to move step by step, who was pregnant. She was soaking wet. Her hair clung to her face.
"What's wrong?" Chicago, who had taken care of Thalassa for several months, was very concerned about pregnant women. Seeing this, she immediately wanted to go forward.
However, Charlotte stopped her.
"Charlotte, that pregnant woman looks like she needs help!" Chicago said anxiously.
"I'll go." Charlotte motioned for her to stay put.
Unexpectedly, before Charlotte could get there, Abigail suddenly collapsed in the middle of the bridge, writhing in pain.
Seeing this, the children immediately ran towards her.
Jessie followed suit.
Charlotte remained silent. She had no choice but to hurry after them.
"What's wrong with you?" Chicago quickly ran to Abigail and squatted down to ask her.
Abigail lay on the ground, clutching her belly. "I accidentally fell into the water and got washed up here. Can you help me call for help?"
"Okay! Don't be afraid, I'll immediately..." Chicago instinctively reached for her smartwatch.
At this moment, Jessie suddenly barked twice.
