Chapter 720 With This Broken Body, I Won't Go Back to Her
"I have a first aid kit at home. Let's go to my place first," Cyrus blurted out. Aura and Gray looked at him in shock.
"Okay, thank you!" Harold didn't care about anything else. He just wanted to know how Fiona was hurt. He carried Fiona in his arms horizontally. Cyrus ignored the looks of his mother and sister and led Harold toward his inn. Some worried islanders followed them to Cyrus's inn. Cyrus took out the first aid kit.
Originally, Fiona wanted to clean her wound herself.
But Harold directly brought the medicine box over.
He had experience as a volunteer assistant physician on the battlefield and was skilled at cleaning wounds.
"Fiona, don't be afraid." He comforted Fiona while preparing the medicine according to what was in the medicine box.
Fiona was actually quite calm.
"You don't be afraid. I'm not afraid," Fiona said helplessly.
She was worried about Harold's trembling hands, afraid that he might accidentally poke her eyes out.
Cyrus looked on, feeling an indescribable sensation in his heart.
Aura pulled him aside. He looked at Aura and stepped back from the crowd.
"Are you crazy?" Aura asked him.
"Why don't you go upstairs and prevent him from coming down?" Cyrus frowned. "She's bleeding so much, I can't just stand by, can I?"
Aura clenched her fist.
Then she turned and ran toward the second floor.
But she bumped into Darwin in the middle of running, who was coming down the stairs.
"Blaise, why did you come down?"
"What happened?" Darwin frowned, but his gaze went down.
From this perspective, he could see Fiona surrounded by a crowd, her white coat stained with blood.
Darwin's heart trembled violently, almost losing his balance. "What happened to her?"
"There was a fight among the islanders just now, and she insisted on getting closer. I don't know who injured her." Aura frowned. "There shouldn't be anything serious. Her fiancé is helping her, and they called a helicopter. They'll be able to send her to the hospital soon."
Darwin's brow remained furrowed.
Harold was currently cleaning the blood and sand around Fiona's eyes.
It was painful.
Darwin heard her suppressed groan.
His hand on the armrest was clenched tightly, and his arm was trembling.
"Blaise?"
Aura saw that he kept his gaze on Fiona and moved to block his line of sight.
He looked at her.
"You should rest," Aura said gently.
He stayed silent for a moment, then turned and walked upstairs.
Aura breathed a sigh of relief, but then she heard him say coldly, "Don't worry, I am aware of my own limitations. With this broken body, I won't go back to her."
After he finished speaking, he went upstairs without looking back.
Aura stood in place, reacting for a moment, then suddenly felt thunderstruck!
Did he remember?
Darwin returned to his room and locked the door.
Not long after, he heard the roaring sound of the helicopter. He quickly pushed open the balcony door and walked to the terrace.
He happened to see Christopher carrying Fiona, running toward the helicopter, with Harold closely following behind her.
After Fiona left, the islanders gathered in Cyrus' house, each one filled with worry.
Cyrus looked at the blood on the ground. "Did anyone see who hurt Fiona?" he asked.
"It was so chaotic at that time, no one noticed," someone replied.
"Did Lily see anything? She got hurt because she was protecting Lily. Ask Lily," Cyrus said.
Lily’s grandma looked nervous. "She's so little. How could she see anything? I asked her, and she said she didn't see anything!"
"Well, what do we do now? President Solomon, the heiress to the Rhoads Family Corporation, is injured here. If her eyes are really hurt, someone has to take responsibility," Cyrus said in a serious tone.
Just as they were talking, they heard a lot of footsteps outside in disarray. Everyone hurriedly got up and went out. Aura immediately recognized the tall man named Mike, who was leading the group of volunteers.
"Where are the people who fought?" Mike stood still and coldly asked, pointing to the islanders over there.
Aura furrowed her brows. "Aren't you a volunteer? Why are you coming over here?"
"I'm not just any volunteer. I am the bodyguard of Janna, the chairman of the Rhoads Family Corporation, responsible for protecting Fiona!" Mike changed his appearance from before, no longer appearing honest and simple-minded but rather like a killer with an icy demeanor. "Janna heard that someone here had the audacity to hurt her beloved granddaughter, so she sent me to find the culprit!"
"You oligarchs are trying to go against the world! Aren't you afraid that we will expose you!" Aura angrily rebuked.
Mike looked at her with a cold smile on his face. "Why don't you try using your devices and see if you can send a message out?"
As soon as he finished speaking, someone exclaimed, "I can't make any calls!"
"My phone's network is gone!"
Immediately after Burl learned about Fiona's situation, he activated the signal jammer. After they arrived on the island, they set up security systems everywhere and also installed signal jammers. Now, without Burl's permission, no one could use the internet or make phone calls on the entire island.
"Miss Rhoads has always been kind and generous, never involved in such things. Now, all I need is for you to bring out the person who hurt her!" Mike said, emphasizing each word. "If you don't, I guarantee that every single one of you will have a difficult life from now on!"
"It was an accident. Fiona insisted on coming over to our side. Why should we take the blame?" Aura retorted.
But Mike didn’t believe her words. He had already asked Christopher, and Christopher had said that Chelsea got hurt while protecting a child. How did it become that she willingly went over to their side in the mouths of these barbarians?
"Bullshit!" Mike shouted at Aura, "I used to think that maybe you guys just had a sentimental attachment to your homeland, so you didn't want to leave. Now it seems like all of you are a bunch of ungrateful assholes! Chelsea clearly got hurt trying to save the child, but according to what you said, it was her own fault. Fine! Great!"
"Sir, we never said Fiona deserved it. It's her nonsense!" Lily’s grandma pointed at Aura. "Fiona was protecting my granddaughter and got accidentally injured. I have always been grateful. If it weren't for Fiona, it would have been Lily in her place. How could I think she deserved it?"
"Yeah, we all know Fiona was trying to protect the kid! What nonsense are you spouting, Aura?"
"Aura, have you gone crazy? You want to harm all of us?"
The accusations from everyone came one after another.
Aura was instantly dumbfounded.
Just a short while ago, these people treated her as their leader.
